Minter isn't the issue. He's HIGHLY elevated our defense from last year (top-ranked scoring D) and he's doing it amid losing starters to injury (an oft-used excuse for failure) and all while starting rookies and installing a new scheme.
Ficken isn't the issue. He brought our special teams out of obscurity and made it a strength. He was kept on by Harbaugh. He's transitioning to the new kickoff rules and having some success.
Harbaugh isn't the issue. He's changed the culture and knows how to motivate and encourage - when to extend a leash and when to publicly semi call out a player for not doing well. And we're 8 - 4.
Which of our coaches is having the most trouble elevating their side of the ball? Who could it be? Which coach came in with a resume (and with some big talk) of having a solid running game that would "elevate" Justin and the offense? And which coach hasn't had that success and, in fact, has seen a general decline in their area of expertise?
If we could identify that coach and remove and replace him, we'd have a chance for competency in all three phases and with our head coach.
The thing is... This is your opinion and that doesn't mean its an accurate one. Harbaugh probably thinks Roman is doing an amazing job... Sucks for the handful of people on TPB that think otherwise. We're 8-4, in playoff contention, and Herbert has thrown 1 pick all season. The odds are stacked against your wish for a new OC.
This is Jim Harbaugh's team. He was the first hire. Hortiz and the OC, DC and other staff were his choices. So who's going to fire G-Ro? If Jim wants to move on, OK but otherwise nope.
I'm pretty sure Jim and Joe try to fill G-Ro's plate in the coming off season. No O next year, G-Ro is looking for other work in 2026.

Did you chose to ignore how Lamar is actually on track to beat all of his MVP year passing numbers? It’s actually funny how you cherry pick his numbers to prove your unprovable point.
Your cherry picked tiny sample size of a few games doesn’t prove anything. You’re equating wins with Lamar being a better passer. I bet you think Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino because he won a Super Bowl, GTFO of here with that.
Here are a couple of articles talking about how improved he is.
If you still think he’s not an improved passer than it is what it is.
During his MVP season in 2019 Jackson threw the ball only 401 times. So far this season he has thrown 379 times. He's throwing the ball more now, so yes, there's a good chance he will surpass all of his totals from 2019. That doesn't mean he's improved as a passer.
Would Kyle Hamilton say to the media, "No, I don't think Lamar Jackson has improved as a passer. Just look at what happens when we're put in position to throw the ball more. We're 2-5 in those games." No, of course he wouldn't say that.
Your silly suggestion that I must think Trent Dilfer is a better quarterback than Dan Marino has no rele***** to this conversation. The Ravens are a worse team when Lamar throws the ball over 30 times. The record proves it. They're 6-0 this season when he throws fewer than 30 times. They're 2-5 when he throws more than 30 times and Derrick Henry and the rushing attack aren't in the control of the game. In his career, the Ravens are 18-15 when Lamar throws the ball over 30 times. They're 48-9 when he doesn't throw the ball more than 30 times. What does that tell you?

You’re cherry picking wins. The example is extremely relevant. You’re counting wins as a metric for him being a better passer. Wins are a team metric not an individual metric. This isn’t golf.

Do you honestly think Roman is doing a good job? I mean honestly is he maximizing the potential of the players on this offense? I’m genuinely curious because you talk like it but it’s hard to believe you can really think that.

The old “it’s your opinion so it doesn’t make it true but my opinion is correct” defense.

That’s 100% true. I’ve said similar in this post. It’s Harbaughs team and we’re all just living in it. That being said he’s showing that he’s the wrong hire for this year and wasn’t going to be able to maximize the talent left on this team. With the revelation that is Jesse minter and this defense it’s too bad we couldn’t have another savant on offense.
