This is certainly a Labor Weekend surprise. Chargers could start the season w/ Shady McCoy as the feature back and Gordon signs for a #1 Rounder elsewhere.

I don't see him as an upgrade over what we already have.

His production fell way off last year...McCoy is running on fumes...

If it happens or not, I trust Anthony Lynn's judgement of McCoy.

Didn't see much of him last year or in camp so I have no idea how much he has left. As a role player it would not be a bad signing, especially if he is cheap and if we move on from Gordon use that money for extensions.

I did not say to sign Shady McCoy. I view this move today as a Win-Win for Telesco. By putting Gordon on the market for the expressed purpose of Melvin & his agent team realizing his real value. In the meantime, the Chargers know an Anthony Lynn/Shady McCoy reunion in SD is a possible Plan B.

To sum: the McCoy as the feature back is a dream. Melvin needs to wake up and sign the deal on the table by the Chargers. That is Plan A, which is in everyone's best interest.

My 1st hope is that Melvin takes the $5 million plus offer this year and decide to hit the market in FA in 2020. The Chargers get a 3rd in compensation for the loss of Gordon and Telesco flips the pick for another running back to feature with Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler.
