I don't think most Colts fans wanted to get rid of Rivers. There was, though, at least a bitter, vocal minority that never liked him. And it didn't matter how much better he made the team by playing for it. They had long memories, and they remembered that when Rivers was a Charger, their team came off second best whenever they played against him. He used to be a Colt killer

I would giggle uncontrollably if he came out the HS coach’s office, put down his clipboard, and took Ben The Rapist’s job.

      A veritable ticklefest gigglethon

Rivers to saints would be a nice fit. Not to far from home and a good team. He’s better than what they have back there.

Why arent the saints jumping on this? Last Chargers QB cast off they signed won them a Superbowl

I picked him up in dynasty hoping he plays again

Blows my mind, he's 5 years younger than Brady and only 1 year older than Rodgers.

People are saying Cam yet Rivers has played more recently than Cam.

Maybe because Rivers tends to panic in crunch time and play hero ball?

If the referees are impartial, Rivers rarely has to try to win the game with last-minute heroics. But the refs never gave the Chargers a break when he was on the team. He regularly played with his back to the wall, and he knew he wasn't going to get help. If the refs could find a way to screw the Chargers when they were playing a big NFL team, they would. So Riverhad to try to win on a wing and a prayer sometimes.

This is a problem the Chargers will continue to have. They have a small fan base. The NFL has little or no motivation to satisfy it. So when they play teams like the Steelers and Cowboys and Packers they will always come off on the losing end of any controversial call. Sometimes, the refs will invent penalties to sabotage the Chargers.

When Rivers played for the Colts, there was not much need for hero ball because I think that the Colts owner is more respected than Spanos. The owner's reputation and credibility probably matter in ways that few of us as fans realize

Wow, Panthers choose washed Cam over Rivers, insanity.

Panic in the 4rth with the protection being the listless Pip, Tevi, Scho, Feeney, & Hagar the Horrible, and having to greet those blank, whipped stares in the huddle,
while the D has already waived the white flag?

Panic after talking to the frazzled McLynn on the sidelines, who had just brow beaten Whiz/Steichen for not calling a running play on 2nd & 20?

You wanted PR to consistently march the team down field in crunch time with that group?
