Yea, I get it. The season is in jeopardy. It may be over. But this isn't Rivers fault...though he has let himself get flustered, and is falling back on old habits he had outgrown. But he is still one of the better QBs in the league, if we can protect him. He is running for his live out there. But you don't bench him. He still gives you the best chance to win.
Sadly, I think a perfect storm of both injuries, and failed oline development, have put us in a rough spot. All we can do is hope that this shitty season develops some of the young talent we do have on this roster, and that we can be poised for a bounce back season. But it is gonna be tough fixing that line. So let's hope by the end of the year, at least a couple of these guys end up being pretty darn good...

Rivers needs to play better behind an average o-line.
Every single game has been winnable.
Rivers has less margin for error.
So he can't get away with all these turnovers.
6 interceptions & 2 fumbles = 8 in 6 games. Too many to win consistently.
At that pace Rivers will have another 13 turnovers in the 10 games left.
That won't work. It will be 3-7 finish. And 5-11 record.
But, If Rivers can cut those turnovers down to 5 over those final 10 games.
They can finish 7-3 or 8-2. Yes! That's right. This horrible roster of a team with inept coaches can do that.
9-7 is probably 1 short of postseason, but may be enough.
10-6 and they are in the playoffs.
That is my prediction.
Rivers turnovers 5 or less over final 10 games = Playoffs.

Average vs a great pass rush team will be a tough day for Rivers. He has to be great that day. No turnovers.
Average vs an average pass rush team. Rivers can have a decent day. He can get away with a turnover. But it makes the game really close. 2 turnovers or more is asking for the L.
Average vs a poor pass rush and River won't turn it over because its an easy day at the office. Like the 30-10 win vs Miami.
Well the Miami game. The last win....is no longer on schedule.
Rivers will need to play great with 1 or no turnovers behind this average O-line to win games. But that isn't much different than most QBs in the league. They play behind average O-lines too. And the difference in game is the turnover battle. Who protected the rock better usually wins. Dont beat yourself.
Who has it better than us?

not sure the RPO is the answer/recipe for success.... young John making more shrewd football decisions eye think is.
were resigning Mebane and TB good football moves for this franchise, or were they in answer to some unspoken LAC mythos since AL has become captain of this ship ??
is Thomas Davis the answer, and despite that we have not one, not two, but @least three WILs now in house and on the roster ??
and was signing Tyrod in FA a shrewd football decision, or was it in FO deference to their three headed personnel monster, which includes their HC of choosing ??
what is the most underperforming/underwhelming position to date ?? have MW/TB met your expectations @WR ??
will Trey Pipkins ever unseat Trent Scott @LT ?? how 'bout Sam @RT ?? and if he does, is he a quality long-term NFL starter @either spot ??
would you have rather had the likes of Bryce Love, Ryan Finley or Yodny Cajuste in his stead ??
and w/the likes of Kaleb McGary, Cody Ford, Dalton Risner, Eric McCoy and even AJ Brown available.... would we be better off w/one of them in Jerry's stead ??
why don't they play Dan @RG, and why the delay in getting Forrest in there @LG ?? and isn't Groy a better NFL center than Dan ??
my take and in hindsight, the proper/most prescient move woulda been to trade down into the second and nab Eric McCoy for the OC, and use an added fourth rounder for Trevor Williams insurance in the form of Amani Oruwariye.
in addition, and however unpopular the sentiment, saving the FA monies spent on Tyrod and drafting Jarrett Stidham woulda given us a more than adequate second option @QB.
RT Isaiah Prince was available day three/round five and/or six, ditto for WR Kelvin Harmon.
instead of signing Davis at an overflow position (I get the injuries angle, and....) we coulda had Jamie Collins (1/2m) @SAM, and Jon Bostic (1/.895m) @backup MLB.
and of course I'm just talkin' smak/goofin' as for every Shaquil Barrett there is our beloved Jason Verrett.... GM'n ain't easy.
other FAs on my wish list were RB Tevin Coleman (2/8.5m), EJ Gaines (1/2.1), and Danny Shelton (1/1.03m).
we didn't sign back the either of Liuget or Philon, and we did bring back Dontrelle, and however ephemerally so.
is Rayshawn a SS, and what's w/the Nasir mystere ??
is Teamer a S or CB, and what about Jaylen Watkins ?? and could we have used Tony Brown, who once upon a time was a promising ps player who was claimed by GBay, and has delivered mightily, @least in terms of snap count and seeing the playing field.
and no luck w/Badgley, not to mention the refs, and that darn soccer stadium.
for those of you who still think this season holds water/some promise.... bless you, and.... we'll be by your side/right there w/ya !!
:More Q Please:
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

Of course im not a fan of benching Rivers. You just cant do that to him. He has played at a high level given the OL woes. That wont sit well with most fans.
Rivers under pressure--throws up a pick
Stick under pressure--scrambles to move the sticks
Rivers under pressure--has to take the sack
Stick under pressure--does the counterattack!

same guys giving PR time whether he throws to Austin or the MG3m man.... (will be lucky to get $10m over 3 years as things stand now
and just like Vea and Dex were off the board before our round one picks @NT, don't think there was a franchise LT there for the taking as of late.
and just like we could be playing Justin Jones ahead of Brandon @NT, we could soon be playing Groy ahead of Dan.... for minimal if much of any advantages there ??
play Tyrod, even play Easton, or.... stick w/the guy that's gonna continue to get it done thru the duration of his contract.... including the one he resigns for next season.5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

I think all options have to be considered
I agree with the premise (mobile qb > Rivers behind our shit Oline)
the offense is predictable and ineffective
every completion looks painstaking
something drastic has to change because this isn’t sustainable
we can’t sit on our hands hoping the Chiefs keep losing.

Stick will be on IR before the game is over and can see him tossing many picks. Did you not see how shitty he was against 3rd stringers?
