How awesome would it be to have Staley as the 49ers coordinator? Only thing more awesome than that would be if Bowl Cut let Tesco hire him as coordinator 😅

I think most every candidate they talked too had some history with Harbaugh I believe - except maybe Dawn Aponte. I think even Ian Cunningham crossed paths with Harbaugh. Dodds from Indy worked with him in Oakland; the guy from the Giants was an area scout and the area was the Big 10, of course Hortiz with the cross over with his brother in Baltimore
For sure, no doubt, Harbaugh had a big big say in who the GM was going to be

But I have never seen any reporting it was actually "OK, Jim - you select the GM all on your own for us". Rather, its shades of influence, like the discussion of the current leadership group for the hire of any new leader.
Joe had excellent credentials he had built up separate and apart from Jim, perhaps I give more credit to Joe's excellence and reputation to stand on his own as a top candidate than you do.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

Personally, I see the jobs as peers - same level of the org chart. Now they need to be compatible.
Davis is just a terrible owner. Telesco was a bad hire to be GM - well he is a terrible GM. But not sure he was the right fit with Pierce.

I like the Ravens buisiness model
Owner
VP
My guess DeCosta and Harbaugh more report to the VP Sashi Brown than Harbaugh reporting to DeCosta. Granted, they both have worked together long enough it is a true partnership

I am sure they wanted a GM that would work closely and in synch with Jim as a single "team". They lived through 2 powerful GMs that were assholes to the coach, both imploded the organization. they didn't want to hire a GM that Jim couldn't work with, agree.

And your wording is better than mine "shades of influence" --

There are rumors that Tom Brady will leave FOX and take on a bigger role with the Raiders. I personally don't think it's a good idea to have someone commentating NFL games when he's a minority owner of an NFL team. On top of that, I think Brady really sucked at FOX this year, and it was unfair of the network to push Greg Olsen down to the #2 spot. Olsen was doing a great job before Brady got into the booth this year. Olsen still is doing a great job.
There are also rumors that Brady will be heavily involved in the Raiders' coaching search and has reached out to Bill Belichick: https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1877037614437486596
I don't see Belichick wanting to work for Brady. I wouldn't put it past Belichick to leave the North Carolina Tar Heels hanging by returning to the NFL this offseason, though.

Brady wasn't good at his job. Just not a natural. Olsen is excellent -- one of the best
Hopefully Brady wants to be full time owner so no more broadcasting. He won't be missed
