Can't be afraid to try to win. Maybe the last few years the Ravens have followed the "model" of doing business. Draft, develop, comp picks. And its been successful in terms of regular season wins and getting to the playoffs. But haven't got to the Super Bowl

Maybe Biscotti told EDC - its time to try to not lose but win.

Hortiz is in a different spot that but that doesn't mean he can't be aggressive in trying to build the roster. That doesn't mean foolish - just strategic and aggressive

Always liked Crosby. Glad he is no longer a Raider. He deserves better. Always gave maximum effort on lousy teams, late in games they were getting pounded, season after season. Played hurt. Heart and soul of that team now gone. Hope they blow the picks like they have in the past.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

I concur with this. With an aging main crew on their O with the likes of Lamar and Henry, they have decided to bring the young defensive minded guru and then "gift" him an All-Pro to do his magic with that D. This is a gambit which may pay off but I always err on the side of caution and I do not like to give away future first round draft picks for an aging player (I didn't even like what GB did with Micah Parsons but that is just me). Steve Bisciotti also seems increasingly meddling and the rumor has been that he will be looking for buyers, perhaps in the next few years. I think that they have decided on ride/die with Lamar and therefore Jesse's future is 100% linked to this gamble by the higher ups. I am concerned because Jesse is a good/great guy but I am not going to lose sleep over his demise because this is always a one of 32 and they are all grown up men knowing what they are getting into.

I don't like what the Ravens are doing, just my opinion, reeks of desperation, I don't think it's going to work...too many older players are dominating their salary cap and in the meant time they stand to hemorrhage younger guys to other teams because they can't afford to pay them, to me that's a recipe for disaster...

Chiefs hold the #9 pick, their highest since 2013.

The McDuffie trade, added a second first rounder, #29 overall, a fifth rounder, a sixth rounder, and a 2027 third rounder (albeit, not likely to help this year)

This gives the Chiefs 9 picks total…and reminder, their GM often trades up or down.

The abundance of picks puts the Chiefs in a good spot to address WR, Edge, DB, and DT

Cap wise, they restructured Mahomes to save approx $45M. Releasing RT Taylor cleared $20M (-$7.3 dead money). Trading McDuffie cleared $13.6M. Chiefs now have $25M in total cap.

Is your reasoning Mahomes will be a worse QB than rookie Mendoza because he won’t be healed from his injury and Mendoza will be sensational out of the gate? Or they are a wash because injury offsets rookie status?
I don't think anyone was more decisive than me last preseason declaring the Chief's dynasty over.
Their season pretty much conformed to my expectations...although didn't see Denver asserting themselves.

I guess not getting bitch slapped in the Super Bowl will help them this year.
              That's about it!

Mahomes will not have an off-season to work with any new receiver, and the collection of old ones just ain't that good.
His go to guy, Kelce, .... will be either gone, or brow beat by Taylor Swift, suffering a further massive decline, compounding matters.
The idiot's head wasn't in it last year; just imagine how focused this guy will be married, when he's told he needs to follow the perpetual Swifty tour rather than prepare for the upcoming season.
              Poor bastard!
Rasheed Rice ... he is nice, but people went way overboard with him when things were rosy.
Maybe they get J. Love, and finally have someone to take notice of ... but their other massive holes will then be put off for days 2 and 3.

On D, who scares you .... maybe Chris Jones, on a good day ...he"ll be 32 years old in July.
McDuffie is gone ... the person who will replace him will not be as good.
              ,
They will take McDuffie's money and bring in someone decent in free agency ...and then the assortment of I hope he still has something left dudes, ... a staple of McVeachS the last 2 - 3 season.

Yes, if they have a draft for the ages ... they'll compete for the division. Anything is possible. If they revert back to the fairy land they enjoyed of no serious injuries all year ... sure!

We saw what happened when their tremendous luck ran out ... and they had to deal with a string of injuries that most NFL franchises encounter.

On the other hand, punked by even the Raiders, without a fully recovered Mahomes and hit by injuries ... I can see that.

Seeing Raider news daily here ive seen many interviews with Crosby and a few podcasts he has and one he did with Gruden on Barstool. That guy is a solid person. Does a lot for the community here, is forthcoming in his views, is always at the facility early even when he knew he was getting traded. Its also why i wouldnt mind Malcolm Koonce for as Max talked him up, said what a hard worker he is.

He is pretty close with Davis so tho he did deny a trade rumor, he knew he was going and he doesnt like Bradys trusted advisor who is said to be his most trusted confidant and longtime body coach within the Las Vegas Raiders organization from NE ,.... Alex Guerrero,.... who shut him down the last two games. So Brady be damned who everyone thinks is god, Max dont care. His sidekick in his view fucked him.

Id be happy to have him on our team but they were never going to do a division trade and Hortiz wouldnt give up those picks anyway. Now on the field he is different lol...like when he threw Herbert down when he yelled in is ear....but id take him in a heartbeat if we could.

Agree with you. When I've heard him interviewed I've been impressed with the guy. And would take him in a heart beat as well. Maxx Crosby checks all the boxes

Browns restructured the final year of DeShaun Watson's deal...but he still is fully guaranteed to make a total of $230 mil...ouch...not much ROI on that investment...and those THREE first round picks the Browns coughed up for him...triple ouch...

The Cleveland Browns restructured Deshaun Watson's contract, converting $44.7 million of his salary into bonus money to free up $36 million in cap space ahead of next week's free agency period.

We'll see. They got one of if not the best edge in the game at a PON. By the way, they have 10 picks in the draft

Lamar is 1 year older than Justin Herbert. Henry's old for an RB but he's never hurt and is a beast. I don't know about this idea of an aging roster
