GM could draft 7 rookie All-Pros in a single draft and half the fan base would complain he didn’t draft a punter.
Many of them are members/active posters on here.

Well, they are drafting late every year due to their success. So they have to take red flag players and bargain guys. He got a pretty good looking guard in this draft and did a great job rebuilding that OL.

It’s why most GMs typically get at least a five year run before they get fired. Most get even longer.

I also think that it’s wrong to see the GM and coach is completely separate. A good coach should be involved in the talent selection process and trying to help the GM figure out which talent to land to fit what the coach wants to do.

Norvell, who couldn't identify that guy at Cal when he was a qb genius & head coach of the Rat turds,
had little sense in those matters.

I think all the former Chargers defensive players that have been picked up by the raiders is ample evidence that the coaching staff has a say in player personnel. It's not all on the GM.

However, it's fun for some people to blame everything on the GM.

AJ had a lot of early success at drafting and became big headed. That was his downfall.
