Jason Reed of Boltbeat? He looks to be some 22 year old kid. I know everybody has opinions which is cool but just because he isa writer for a crap BB publication means nothing.

Id trust Ninjas judgement and some others here over some kid. Fansided is a site of amatuer writers. Porn Star Mia Khalifa once was a writer for it.

PFF ranks him dead last among edge rushers as well and I doubt their team there is full of 22 yr olds.

I don’t think many people outside of maybe Nwosu’s immediate family would say he hasn’t been irrelevant this season.

you ever seen the pics of PFF guys and how they view plays?
They sit at computer screens like we use at home looking at plays like we do lol. I was quite shocked and amused.

Idk,....I know it seems to be some metric gauge, but even before I saw those pics I thought their logic of how they came up with some stats was flawed.

I'm not defending Nwosu. He is not an elite player and true he makes a big play here and there and isn't a full-time starter. But at the end of the year his stats have been similar to Mel as a part time player. Now this year he splits snaps as well with Fackrell.

Speaking of Mel, some here still want Mel back and in 7 games last year he had like 5 QB hits and no sacks. Year before around 12 QB hits and 6 or 7 sacks and he played fulltime.

We do need an edge rusher and IDL next year. Probably a CB too.

I hope to be wrong about Murray.

But I don’t believe I’m wrong about Nwosu. He will struggle to find a contract to stay in the NFL after his rookie deal expires. He can’t play and once in a blue moon makes a play. Currently PFF ranks him dead last among edge rushers with a 34.4 grade.

He reminds me of Jyles Tucker who never played in the reg season for another team after his deal expired with the Chargers. Tucker would randomly make a good play here or there but for the most part wasn’t very useful.

It’s not just me who thinks Nwosu sucks, Jason Reed at BoltBeat has him as one of the most disappointing players of this season;

It’s a waste of a 2nd rd pick. 2nd rd picks should be quality starting caliber players. Telesco passed on Fred Warner for Nwosu.

While I tend to agree with you about Nwosu not living up to his draft status, I do think he’ll be playing for 2+ more years in the NFL. I wasn’t a fan of drafting Uchenna in that draft slot but he wasn’t dramatically over drafted. He just hasn’t panned out. It happens.

Everybody passed on Warner in the 2nd round. Easy to say 4 years later who we should of picked.

SF picked Dante Pettis in the second round that year and he never did a thing for them. Isnt there anymore.

Other 2nd rounders Derius Guice is out of the league, James Washington is a backup in Pittsburgh. There are some others that arent starting or on a team anymore. Just tying to say, every GM misses on draft picks but Telesco is a whiping boy here.

so it's a humbling game for myself as well.
I think CB Oliver would definitely have been my pick and I haven't heard much from him.

I guess I’m not as down on nwosu as many here. I’ve seen enough that I’d actually consider extending him. I see the D-line as the problem and even with JJ they’re not going to be anything but avg to below avg all season. Joseph has already shown decline just from last year, a upgrade is needed up front.
