How did 2 teams from the AFC W make it to the playoffs? I don't remember the 79 playoff rules. No wild card back then correct?

There were 3 division champions (Buffalo, Cleveland, San Diego) and one wildcard team (the Raiders). There was no wildcard round.
If i remember correctly, that came into being in 1982 (the strike shortened season) when the Chargers beat Pittsburgh, and then lost to Miami, who lost to the eventual conference champions.

The Chargers played that game without Mount Washington, there LT. I didn't realize that until i re watched the game on youtube. Hendricks had a field day with his replacement.

I don't see anyone who's here posting 5, 10. 20 posts a day being finished with LAC over any player, coach, or result. there were hundreds of prior players, coaches and results that never could trigger such a departure, this is nothing new - its just the newest version of the same. we're approaching 60 years of this and we all know that grown men (women too?) don't just switch their team.

i could be wrong, a few threateners at my last forum home actually did depart for good. but they were few. for the most part, you're here because you can't quit them. just internalize, admit, accept, step through whatever steps of grief and recovery are needed, and deal with this imperfect relationship that has involved you despite all feelings and common sense.
