That's possible, when you don't get to the negotiating table last minute. They came early, and came hard. Justin WANTS to be with the Bolts, and he did his part in the deal by not extorting the team to the degree that's it's handicapped in any efforts to acquire more player talent. Win - Win.

Excellent point. They did the same with Mike Williams and it paid off. (Although when they signed him I was stupefied at the size of the contract.....until we saw what the lesser quality FA WRs who signed after him ended up getting). I think they have developed a good strategy here.

So I guess that means Herbert, just like every other player on the team, will have to play up to his contract, which means no more overthrowing a wide open Keenan Allen or any other receiver on a gimme touchdown pass during a postseason game.

Or having professional wide receivers like Allen and Williams drop perfectly placed balls.
I believe we were among the leaders in that category in 2021.

I think that is a great sign he is growing into his leadership role. Then an assistant coach dumps water on him and everyone laughs so what he did resonated well with the team. Oh and he chased that coach and took him down to the ground.

And for Ekeler to rush for more than 35 yards in a playoff game. We can go through every player and coach with this. Why it needed to be mentioned in this thread right after Herbert was extended is beyond my knowledge.
