....loyalty can be a tricky thing. It may win a coach respect, but it can also cost him his job.

The Chargers lost in classic style. I bet Herbert wishes he had run it into the endzone from 10 yards out rather than toss an INT 10 feet in front of him. Game changer.

        Stats say...Tyrod who?
are you talking 'bout SupaMel ?? if so, think he took a shot and was hobbling for most of the second half.... not sure it was the best decision to leave him in there ??

He should start now, but I'm sure Lynn has his reasons. I just don't agree of them.

            Interesting.......
Getting mentioned alongside Otto “FUCKIN” Graham is truly LEGENDARY!

Chargers' Justin Herbert in legendary company with debut performance vs. Chiefs

Herbert's stat line was good enough to join a club occupied by Hall of Famer Otto Graham and Cam Newton

Justin Herbert nearly led the Los Angeles Chargers to an upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in his rookie debut on Sunday after he was named as the last-minute starter.

Herbert was 22-for-33 with 311 passing yards, a touchdown pass, and a rushing touchdown. His stat line put him in some legendary company.

The 2020 NFL Draft’s No. 6 overall selection joined Hall of Famer Otto Graham and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton as the only players with at least 300 passing yards and a rushing touchdown in their first career NFL game.

Graham’s feat occurred in 1950 against the Philadelphia Eagles. It was the Cleveland Browns’ first game in the NFL after coming over from the AAFC. He was 21-for-38 with 346 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and a 1-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter of the game. The Browns won 35-10.

Newton was 24-for-37 with 422 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and a rushing touchdown for the Carolina Panthers against the Arizona Cardinals. The Panthers lost the game, 28

Herbert accomplished the feat in an overtime loss against the Chiefs. Harrison Butker nailed a 58-yard field goal with two minutes left in overtime to get the win.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
              Let’s win one for Mack.

Otto is the real GOAT. There has been no one better.

Great breakdown.......maybe bad coaching at Oregon kept Herbert from being the dominant QB his talent suggests he should be?.... there is zero doubt that the Herbert should start every game from now on. Every media network, including everyone on NFL network and NFL radio says the same thing...... Rodney Harrison even said so last night.....

Lynn scares me though...... he is too traditional and old school.....

Lynn made a comment in his presser that taylor will start if he is healthy....

Lynn also said that if Taylor is not ready then Herbert will start again but they will squeeze down the playbook for him??? which makes no sense..... one of the big reasons that the offense played so well against KC is the variety...... mixing up the run and the pass, along with spreading the ball around to different depths, different receivers, RB's, TE's..... and QB runs when advantageous......

trimming down the offense would make the offense simpler and much easier to predict and defend ...... kind of like it was with Taylor starting in last weeks listless offensive showing........ yesterday, it seems like the entire game, Lynn had a scared look on his face every time our OC called a pass for Herbert...... =)

Lynn will be on the hot seat baring this decision. Of course winning will help if Tyrod starts but against a tanking Carolina with no Mccaffery we got to give Herbert a go imo.

Typically im not a fan of throwing a rookie QB in the mix so early. But we all saw him reading the D and making pre snap adjustments. Im not certain Taylor does that. Didnt do a whole lot of it with the Bengals.

Herbert is such a cerebral player. If a rookie QB can achieve success this early its going to be a really smart guy. Im not talking about rookie QBs who come in and make so many plays with their legs that it hides their immaturity as a passer.

Herbert was really focused on passing yesterday. And did some things with his brain that showed me he can pull this off this early. I want to see him grow into that awareness he was lacking sometimes yesterday.
