Is the entire package. MONSTER athletic profile, initial burst, impressive COD agility, power through leverage, incredible hip torque and hand strike power, creates separation inside to increase tackling radius, unmovable TATANKA at the POA. A rare IDL who can 2-gap, reset LOS, and create quick/disruptive penetration.

My bad. For some reason I thought he was picked 3rd. There are definitely great players throughout the draft, JJ Watt was 11th, Merriman was 12th. But in general, picking higher is good. Especially at premium positions.

There are plenty of great players out there, but considering how few top 5, or even just first round picks, there are a lot of great players are picked there.

Probably not but my board is different than most draft pundits.

We all make mistakes, I’ve even made one before. And agreed top picks for premium positions absolutely help but I would say even more importantly is having a good coaching staff in place to develop those guys. I think that’s why teams that are routinely in the top 10 have players that ‘bust’ whereas those teams that are consistent playoff caliber teams seem to always hit when they get those top picks. They take the high talent players and provide them with quality coaching to pull out all that talent. Always exceptions to the rules of course.

I was looking at him and wondering if he's another Aaron Donald, but I haven't seen him enough to know. If he is, I'll take him at #13 and teach Tillery how to play OT.

I read something yesterday that the best edge rushers are taken in the first round. That might have to change how TT does business. Though if a guy like Slater is there at 13 - he should be the pick. But maybe if not Slater, and Parsons is there...
Notice LB is not a big need.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I have been on the McNeill train for a month now, have him in my early mocks. Great power, burst, and leverage in a 6'2 frame. Might be great against the run.
Improved rush would be great, but being great against the run is top priority for me. I differ from the new coach if prioritizes an elite secondary.

Put him next to Joseph and be stout against the run. This helps Tillery play the other 4i (maybe at times on the edge) on Joey's side and I'm now me and Critty are on the same page with the D Line. Nwosu/rookie edge line up on McNeill's side.
Jones is the next guy in the rotation and the D Line is no longer a weakness.

I think with the way Staley talked about Bosa in a Khalil Mack type role and Murray yesterday - my guess is that a true 3-4 DE is probably a higher need than say Parsons in the draft or Leonard Floyd or REddick in Free AGency

If looking at a veteran - that would mean JJ Watt over Leonard Floyd. That was my interpretation at least.

Watt is 32 in March - the motivation will be there; he will be physically in shape but a lot of injuries, a lot of games. I might have to rethink this one - because he would be an outstanding fit at as a 3-4 DE. If not Watt - than somebody that can play that position.

Watt for the TN 6th round pick - redo his deal

With the 13th pick I would go Patrick Surtain Jr. if he's on the board I think if Derwin comes back healthy I believe they would work well together..... If he isn't Id go Rashawn Slater.....

But we still need a DE, RB, & WR....
