OT, Edge and CB - Telesco has his work cut out for him
I read something yesterday that the best edge rushers are taken in the first round. That might have to change how TT does business. Though if a guy like Slater is there at 13 - he should be the pick. But maybe if not Slater, and Parsons is there...

Dane Brugler latest mock has us taking Vera-Tucker with our 13th pick.

13. Los Angeles Chargers — Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT/G, USC
A priority this offseason is for the Chargers is to make upgrades on the offensive line to help protect Justin Herbert. After earning early-round grades at guard after the 2019 season, Vera-Tucker replaced Austin Jackson at left tackle this past season and more than held his own, proving his position versatility. | Beat writer analysis: Daniel Popper reacts to the pick

The best OTs; Pace, Thomas, Ogden; were all top 5 picks. Edge rushers like both Bosas, Chase Young, Peppers, Mack, and Aaron Donald we're all top 5 picks also.
There are definitely great players at both those positions that were taken outside the top 5 and even outside the first and second round. It just might be that you need good coaching to develop that talent and utilize it well in the scheme.
It turns out having top 5 picks is valuable.
