As far as cost for trading for Sewell, Daniel Popper wrote a rather long piece on the trade value, I don't do the Athletic.

Per Jimmy Johnson - its basically the Chargers 2nd round draft choice. And that is a slight "overpay" in points. Anything else would be a serious overpay if just going by the Johnson chart.

Per the chart - with the Lions coming out a bit ahead - fair offers by points alone is

1 and 2
for the Lions 1 and 4
Chargers might have to add a 6th to give the Lions a bit more - but this is pure points.

So basically I am in the side of taking Darrisaw and my CB in R1 and R2 and seeing what else happens

He is my pick -today at 13. Solid LT prospect. Has a lot of the physical traits STaley and Telesco have mentioned. Still can fill in with other needs like CB, IOL, TE and S with your picks in R2-R4

Thats the most I would give up to get Sewell. That right there. No other later picks - hell maybe a 6th this year or future 5th or lower in 2022 (as they should be getting a comp pick or three next year). Thats a fair trade for the Lions - just the 13 and 47 for 7

Christian now gets extra points for toughness/grit and team first mindset.
He also has a valid explanation for some of his 2020 effort lapses, laterally agility stiffness, and drop in explosion from 2019/early 2020.

He missed a couple games and was clearly laboring when he came back. OL have to play banged up and grind it out but a groin injury is a tough one.

Never had a serious groin injury so not sure how much it affects range of motion. It doesn’t sound fun and the movements required to play OT sure seem to depend on that area of the body. Maybe I’ll check WebMD.

Who knows? Maybe a healthy Darrisaw looks completely different. I’ll leave it to the medical/scouting department. If he’s the pick, I’ll trust that his ceiling is higher than expected.

Does this mean he’s injury prone? He’s now had as many surgeries as Walker Little.
