Good read from Pioli -- the Chargers have decent cap space - today but that might go down. But they have many players under contract plus those 9 draft picks - four in the first three rounds. With that - they might have some advantages other teams do not as far as attracting talent for cheaper.

Chargers front office to Free Agents:

We would like to bring you to LA and play in front of an empty stadium again. The CA taxes are high and we kept our HC that is taking an online class on clock management..... but we have cool Uniforms

P.S.-- You will also be playing for a tightwad owner who tends to hire bottom-of -the-barrel coaches, so you will need to get used to dwelling in the cellar just about every year...

We can not fall out of Top 5 or we miss out on big time talent. Ideally the number #3 pick would be ours. However Bengals are locked in at 2 wins and we are tied with many with 3 wins. Cowboys could win another game with Dalton as well.

The Cowboys still have to play the Bengals, Eagles and Giants.

Oklahoma St OT Teven Jenkins vs. Texas EDGE Joseph Ossai

I've been watching tape on Joseph Ossai, he's projecting as 1st Rounder. Jenkins is just working this future 1st Round picker here.

This is what worries me about Telesco - he will think "well we have Pipkins, Bulaga and Turner will be healthy, lets roll with it next year so I can draft Waddle or JaMarr Chase to give my QB Weapons"

Not realizing the absolute BEST thing Telesco can do for Herbert is give him a top 10 OLine. Also that helps the entire team - better running game, control the line etc. I bet if you asked Telesco today - his order of importance would be:

                  Edge
                  CB
                  WR
                  TE - like Pitts
                  LB
OL -- because he can bring back Feeney and Lamp, Pipkins another year, Tevi, etc.
Well, the problem I have with the Bengals drafting Sewell, is that they shifted Williams from Right tackle (guarding Tua's blind side), to Left Tackle. You don't draft an OLT with a top 4 pick, then play him at RT. Also, I bet Burrow is on the phone saying how much he wants Jamar Chase (WR out of LSU).

My bet is Burrow is on the phone before he has his surgery (hasn't had it yet) saying draft any MoFo that can block in all the First three rounds.

Even with Derwin James back next year, I think TT is still not happy with the secondary. Some mock drafts have him picking a top 3 ranked DB, others a top Offensive lineman. However, this years 3 top O-linemen are projected to be gone when the Chargers pick. TT's FA O-Line acquisitions didn't pan out as expected last year nor this year. What is of concern is them thinking Herbert is young, tough and mobile enough to take a pounding and be OK, while TT picks a top 3 cornerback at #1. He'll then draft an O-lineman with his #2 and try again in FA.

He will thrive in any type of passing scheme, with the anchor ability to sustain on long vertical routes and the punch strength for jump sets.

been catchin' up a bit and have adjusted my mock.... for now,

                          1) CB Eric Stokes * we've got two first rounders @DE in Joey 'n Jerry and don't see the imperative to add a third there quite yet, and Stokes fits what we do and want to do @corner
                          2) OC Josh Myers * remember Spencer Pulley, not overly talented but football smart, recall how few sax that line allowed ?? Dan Feeney is not an NFL center, just doesn't have that mindset, he may be our starting RG next season if he is brought back and Trai Turner signs elsewhere.... we need a real center, and someone who could have the greatest impact on the (entire) line
                          2) RB Najee Harris * am trading down out of the top five if you haven't noticed, and this guy fills a (gaping) hole in our RB corps, as Ek should not be expected to carry the load, and for some reason Josh Kelly has not developed into what eye thought would be a contributing first year RB, and not sure we can count on JJ back there.... reinforcements are needed
                          3) LEO Jayson Oweh * he might come off the board inbetween our picks, so might have to reach a bit (hopefully not like Nwosu), but can play on pass rushing downs as we move Joey and/or Jerry inside, and until this guy comes into his own, which by some accounts is @an All Pro level
                          3) S Hamsah Nasirildeen * might need to come off this guy, but haven't seen anything to knock him off his block for now, as like that he can play free or strong, and up close or deep
                          4) LB Palaei Gaoteote * just what the doctor ordered for the second level, as dude can cover and tackle, and for all we know could be Jr. lite
                          5) RT Spencer Brown * would love to see this guy in front of Justin on the rollout, former TE who has some work in front of him to be a starting RT in NFL, but could replace Bulaga in a year or two
                          6) S Divine Deablo * like eye said, am catching up, and this guy is just what we need back there, as someone who can pretty much play anywhere in the defensive backfield, and could get even better
                          6) NT Tuli Letuligasenoa * moved off of Tyler Shelvin for now, so this guy is gonna be the placeholder for the time being, 'specially if we don't get a(nother) NT in FA
                          7) TE Cade Otton * like the other Huskie in front of him, the word from the Ninj scouting bureau is that the neither of 'em are coming out, so still on the lookout for s'more day three selections here
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams
