opting for the trade down w/Jax.... in part coz DJ has Rashawn coming off the board before 13,

    025) CB Eric Stokes * the new HC likes to build from the back to the front, and this guy is my fave player in the mix earlier than later
    045) OG Trey Smith * not sure how nor why the hype train has pushed this guy to the back o' the bus, and.... not havin' it
    047) DT Daviyon Nixon/NT Tyler Shelvin * would like me a Linval hedge, but not wantin' to miss out on a real talent @the 3T
    077) OC Josh Myers * hopefully we can revisit some Hardwick third round magic here
    100) SS Hamsah Nasirildeen * dude has some things that need to be coached/cleaned up, and.... want him in my defensive secondary
    108) RB Trey Sermon/Chuba Hubbard * am a Josh Kelly fan/proponent, and.... we need another solid back there
    142) SS Divine Deablo * Ninj has been raising the flag for too long to get off the bandwagon now.... more reinforcements for the DB ranks
    173) CB Ambry Thomas * plenty o' boards have this guy gone by now.... will take my chances
    179) traded to Jax
    203) DE LaBryan Ray * placeholder 'til eye've got somethin' better for the all y'all
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

Love the Eric Stokes pick. Dude balled hard all year. He’s my 3A/3B CB — tied with Jaycee Horn. Horn’s a better tackler but Stokes is better in coverage.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

1st OT Rashawn Slater - Buying into DJ's and Voch's analysis.
2nd RB Javonte Williams - Hard to say if he'll be there... if he isn't the whole mock changes. If he's gone, I probably go CB here... and RB in late 3rd.
3rd EDGE Hamilcar Rashed - Pass rusher pushes Murray Jr inside to "Jack" or "Mike".
3rd CB Rodarius Williams - Replaces Michael Davis. Keeping Hayward and Davis Jr in hopes that pass-rush was the problem last year.
4th S Talanda Hufanga - Replaces Jenkins. Probably beats out Nasir in Staley's scheme. Flies around the field.
5th WR Anthony Shwartz - Speed burner. Cutting MW to re-build the IOL.
6th LB Grant Stuard - Flew around the field during the Senior Bowl. Replaces Perryman. ILB depth.
6th IOL Josh Sills - Depth behind re-built IOL.
7th 4i Malik Herring - Depth behind Bosa. Replaces Rochell.

In this scenario, I've re-signed HH. I've cut Trai and MW. Used that money to sign FA's across the IOL... also used that money to re-sign some inexpensive FA's for depth... some from last year's roster.

First I’ve seen anyone with Hufanga in their draft. But he would look good in lighting bolts.

Yeah, I wasn't really looking for safeties at first (because I thought Chargers should re-sign Jenkins). But if Jenkins wants to start and/or wants a fairly big pay raise ($5-6 million)... then the Chargers could look to the draft for a safety. I like Hufanga as much as guys going ahead of him in mock drafts.

                  Chris Harris, Jr. (-$3.75M)

                  CAP SAVINGS (including MW's $15M):
                  $40M

                  TOTAL CAP SPACE:
                  ~ $60M

                  KEY IN-HOUSE FA SIGNINGS:
                  Hunter Henry, TE ($11M)
                  Michael Davis, CB ($6.25M)
                  Rayshawn Jenkins, FS ($5.5M)
                  Sam Tevi, OT ($4.5M)
                  Dan Feeney, OG ($2.5M)

                  KEY OUTSIDE FA SIGNINGS:
                  Brandon Scherff, OG ($14M)
                  William Jackson III, CB ($6.25M)
                  Corey Lindsley, OC ($10M)

                  2021 DRAFT:

                  #19 (from WFT) -- Alijah Vera-Tucker, G/T
*Immediate plug-and-play starter at LG. He will slide to RT and fill the Bulaga vacancy in 2022.

                  #47 -- Jay Tufele, DT
*6'3, 315 run stuffer/pocket collapser that draws consistent double teams, freeing Bosa to school guards 1-on-1.

#51 (from WFT) -- Joe Tryon, EDGE
*Explosive EDGE defender with decent coverage skills. Plug-and-play QB molester on the other side of Nwosu.

                  #77 -- Elijah Molden, NB
*Super intelligent, versatile player that Staley will LOVE. Great tackler with inherent leadership qualities. Instant starter/upgrade at nickel.

                  #97 -- Kenneth Gainwell, RB
*A smooth running, well-rounded, yet explosive RB who's creative in space, but can also can run downhill and catch. He’s got elite field vision. Also thought of Rhamondre Stevenson or Trey Sermon here, but in the end, Gainwell is more complete and has more upside.

                  #117 -- Quinn "Wook Daddy" Meinerz, G/C
*The football world reached peak Meinerz hype during Senior Bowl practices. But his stock will cool off between now and April. He'll spend 2021 as IOL depth, then replace AVT at LG once AVT moves to RT in 2022.

#156 -- Elerson Smith II, EDGE
*Can't have too many talented edge defenders in a Brandon Staley defense. At 6'6, 262, Elerson Smith has a ton of upside and showed he belongs with the big boys with his strong Senior Bowl performance.

                  6th round A -- Josh Imatorbhebhe, WR
*A somewhat raw prospect whose stock was diminished by poor QB play at Illinois. At 6'2, 220 he runs in the 4.4s and has an unbelievable 47" vertical. Explosive athlete on the perimeter. Excels in the vertical game and is fearless across the middle. Averaged one TD for every 5 receptions at Illinois. He will be looked back on as a total steal in the 6th.

                  6th round B -- Khyiris Tonga, NT
*A mammoth of a man at 6'4, 325. Tonga will be groomed to play NT behind Linval Joseph. He's a raw prospect with lots of upside, but will need time to develop.

7th round -- Jose Borregales, PK
*No more being scared of those 45-55 yarders. Borregales has a monster leg. Let's fix the kicking game for the next decade.

                  UDFAs:
Jonathan Adams Jr., Arkansas State, WR
                  Tommy Doyle, Miami (OH), OT
                  Nanshon Wright, Ore. St., CB
                  Drew Dalman, Stanford, OC
                  Deontay Anderson, SS, Houston

                  PROJECTED 2021 DEPTH CHART:

                  OFFENSE
                  QB: Justin Herbert; Easton Stick

RB: Austin Ekler; Kenneth Gainwell (R); Joshua Kelly; Justin Jackson

WR: Keenan Allen; Jalen Guyton; Tyron Johnson; Josh Imatorbhebhe (R); KJ Hill; Joe Reed; Jonathan Adams Jr. (R)

TE: Hunter Henry, Donald Parham, Stephen Anderson

LT: Orlando Brown Jr.; Sam Tevi; Storm Norton

LG: Alijah Vera-Tucker (R); Dan Feeney; Quinn Meinerz (R)

OC: Cory Lindsley; Dan Feeney; Quinn Meinerz (R)

RG: Brandon Scherff; Quinn Meinerz (R)

RT: Brian Bulaga; Alijah Vera-Tucker (R); Storm Norton; Trey Pipkins

                  DEFENSE
4 TECH: Joey Bosa, Jay Tufele (R), Jerry Tillery, Justin Jones

NT: Linval Joseph; Khyiris Tonga (R)

EDGE: Uchenna Nwosu, Joe Tryon (R), Elerson Smith II (R)

ILB: Kenneth Murray, Drue Tranquil, Nick Vigil, Kyzir White

CB: Michael Davis; William Jackson III; Tevaughn Campbell; Nanshon Wright

NICKEL: Elijah Molden (R); Tevaughn Campbell

                  SS: Derwin James; Alohi Gilman

                  FS: Rayshawn Jenkins; Nasir Adderley

                  SPECIAL TEAMS
                  KICKER: Jose Borregales (R)

                  PUNTER: Ty Long

                  KR: Nasir Adderley, Joe Reed

                  PR: KJ Hill

                  NOTES:
*The trade with WFT will only be possible if one of the QBs is still on the board at #13. I'm including Mac Jones as one of the elite QBs that teams will covet. The Mac Jones hype will rise steadily between now and April. WFT or some other QB needy team will want to jump in front of New England. We'll be glad to make it happen.

*It hurts to part with a 2022 1st rounder, but Orlando Brown Jr. is worth it. An OL of Brown Jr., AVT, Lindsley, Scherff, and Bulaga is an OL to be proud of. John Spanos could get 4 YPC behind that line.

*It also hurts to deal away Mike Williams, but that cap savings allows for key veteran signings at PON.

*Not too sad about Casey Hayward and Chris Harris Jr. William Jackson III and Elijah Molden will be immediate upgrades and inject some much needed youth into our aging secondary.

*The Trai Turner cut is the most obvious and shouldn't require an explanation, especially when we get Sherff and AVT.

Thanks. I put some thought into it. Now, how can I fax Telesco his new marching orders?

The whole thing hinges on the Orlando Brown trade. Wouldn’t BAL deal him for MW and a 2022 first? Seems generous.

Amazing, thorough work by Dude and our roster builders !!

                        First question.
                        What are your takes on
Kenneth Gainwell vs Chubba Hubbard vs Michael Carter ?
                        Tough choices.

                        I definitely like Gainwell.
                        Reminds me of Warrick Dunn.

They’re all studs and they'd all do well behind the OL I’m proposing. Out of all them, Hubbard ran behind the most talented OL in college. Both Jenkins and Stills will be high to mid-round picks. I like Michael Carter but I’d rather have a RB who’s a solid 200. I think Gainwell’s the safest of the 3. Plus Memphis has has a good track record for RBs in recent years.
