Azeez Ojulari is the 2019 winner of the Georgia Bulldog football Leon Farmer Strength and Conditioning Award.

The 2018 winner was Nick Chubb. ..we'll see if Nick has enough power this weekend.

As a 6'3"/240# DE/OLB, does Ojulari have sufficient core strength to set the EDGE ?
This is an important question, especially in the day of RPO.
It must be asked of all EDGE prospects.
There has to be some combination of pass rush skill, with counter, anchor, disengage and diagnosis.
A little ankle flexion, burst and bend is always nice.

.Let's go to the weight room.
    Ojulari's numbers are...
    ---Power Clean 330 pounds
    ---Bench Press 355 pounds
    ---Squat 500+ pounds
    in high school.

Ojulari has stealth strength combine with technique and powerful, accurate, lightning quick handwork.
This renders him adequate in dealing with Olinemen.
Development of a better counter move or plan B in his pass rush will yield a more complete prospect.
That is something that will be coached into this young player.

The only prospect who was better in this year's bowl action was Justin Fields.
This is an underrated, rapidly ascending prospect.
A perfect fit at a position of need.
Exactly the kind of selection our scouts and front office will make,
due to value, character and high ceiling.
We do not play modern football.

        Nice Wu-Dai

Ojulari someone I've haven't watched yet. I have more catching up to do... Dammit. Just watched a film Session on him instead of a game. I love to have more options at pass rusher than what I have as far as familiarity. Will go look further.

Ojulari is a 3-4 hydrid Edge player.

          i don't see him as a DE in a 34 under base
If Chargers defense remains the same 43 under base.
Where does he play? Just pass rush downs as a specialist.
Do you play him at strong side LB? Seem like the wrong fit to get most out of him. Think he needs to remain a 34 edge player to get the production.
If the new staff changes schemes.
Then, IMO, a player like Azeez makes a lot of sense as a target.
Would you rather have 3 DLs
          DE Bosa/Rochelle
          NT Joseph/Square
          DE Tillery/Jones
          And then 4 LBs
          Nwosu/Egbule
          Murray/Perryman
          White/Tranquill
          Ojulari/Jefferson

          Or stay with 4 DLs
          DE Bosa
          NT Joseph
          DT Jones
          DE Tillery
          And then 3 LBs
          LB White
          LB Murray
          LB Tranquil

After watching some tape on Ojulari, i went back and i watched more of Rousseau and i dont think id draft him in the first round. He does not have a quick first step or explosion off the ball and reminds me of Ingram in that regard which is what i didnt like about him. They used Rousseau in the middle over the OC a lot as well but that won't work well for him in the NFL. Rousseau is a good run defender but as a pass rusher.....id pass in round 1.

After watching Ojulari it seemed Rousseau was pretty passive in comparison. Now i want to watch more of Rashod Weaver as i think he may surpass Patrick Jones for me.

I watched Jones and Weaver go tag team on Eichenberg when the Irish faced off with Pitt...Eich won the day, but I did like Weaver more than Jones a bit...only game I've watched on them, though.

Ironically, #6, who I never looked up, gave Eich more trouble than the other 2 draft prospects....
The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB, Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

Jones is a bit more twitched up, huge motor, and carries a more linear frame.
Weaver is a power player with excellent technique, hands/feet coordination/COD agility, and hand strike location.

I like Weaver for us in round 3.
He is a technician with more than one move. He has enough going to set the EDGE. This would gove us a plus run defender bookend to Bosa, whose strong suit is run defense. I believe Weaver has excellent "hurry" stats too.

I think not knowing who the defensive coordinator is going to be makes it a little tough to project defense right now. I know that OL is the biggest need but if Kyle Pitts is on the board at 13 you have to draft him. I know that the chargers will keep Henry this offseason but hopefully on a short term contract because of his health issues. Pitts is going to be one of, if not the best TE in the NFL. Great target for Herbert to throw to.

Second round you go best OL available and there is the potential of being so good talent here. Mayfield, Trey smith, Radunz, Carman, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Cosmi and or Leatherwood. One of them will be available at 50. It would be tempting to take Barmore here also.

Last is tough because we dint know who will be signed in FA yet. If one of the previously mentioned OL slips I would not be opposed to taking 2 linemen this early.
