    Patience.
    Nasir, drafted for gusD, disappointed.
Woods needs to chase n tackle that electronic dummy around the practice field.
    LOL.
We do not play modern football.

Do you think Moore will look at our poor running game and think that with a better scheme, getting Slater back, and with Salyer and Johnson getting another offseason and camp to improve, that Ekeler, Kelley and Spiller are "good enough" and that if we used that pick for a TE or a WR with elite speed that the O would be better? I'm thinking if we drafted a RB in the first round, it will make it harder to address the other needs on the team.
It depends on how TT, Staley, Moore set the board, how they rank "Needs" and who other teams pick. I've hated taking Need #1 with better talent available elsewhere.(not talking Slater, Zion).
The only thing we don't have is WR speed and that will probably be a #4 WR as a rookie. We can upgrade depth all over.
      Best player available at 21.
RB Bijan, TE Mayer, TE Kincaid, LB Sanders are some of my favs but it could be a top, maybe elite talent from any position.

ps: I'm sure that Moore can improve the run offense with no adds,#30 to @15 just scheme change. That doesn't rule out RB. He may want top 5 at the min. Mayer also improves the run game. Bijan is a decent receiver and blocker. Sanders-run D, pass D, QB pressure. Sooo?

The Bolts knew Woods had tackling issues when they drafted him...apparently, they thought they could coach him up...this upcoming season will be make or break for him...will he be like Jammer, who took a few years to learn to turn his head? Or will he be an epic bust like Candyman? We shall see...

LOL, Jammer never learned to turn his head. He was a great tackler and when he kept everything in front of him he was great. Once you got
behind the dude he was toast.

He should’ve been moved to safety

Okay, Jammer never was a real ballhawk who racked up a lot of picks...BUT...he DID turn his head enough to get a ton of PD's:

We drafted a top press CB and the NFL changed the PI rules. WRs looked for him. Run into him & Wa-La! PI! 1st down!

We may have tried that during the off season. Jammer said he was a CB at heart. He laughed at the suggestion.
Those were the good ole days on the Chargers forum.

That's funny. From 2002-2005 the Chargers CBs ranked among the worst in the NFL. Did you watch the 2006 PO game against the Pats?
3rd and long. Brady goes deep sideline route. Jammer never turns his head and gives up a huge play to the Pats (formally a Charger by the way)
3rd rate WR. May have been Caudwell I think. He never learned to read the opponents eyes and act accordingly.

Perhaps and I'd agree but I'd still like to have Rochon Johnson in the 3rd or 4th. Kelly will be in his last year of his deal and Rountree can go bye bye.

No doubt about it, Jammer did have some moments of weakness...still, for the most part, he was an effective defender. Those years with 18-19 PD's--nothing to sniff at. Compare with our best DB's:

                          asj stats.jpg

                          derwin stats.jpg
Derwin's best year for us was his first. After that, he hasn't been all that impressive on pass D. Yes, he makes a lot of tackles, like Tranq. But for all the hoopla about Derwin being such a force, I've seen him get burned plenty of times...
