Terrion Arnold tackles strong and has Slot versatility.
Does anyone see a McDuffie for us here ?
    Hmmm.
    Maybe at #11 ?
Slot corner is not our weakness. We have two guys that fit there. Outside corner that can go one on one is badly needed.
Two years ago the DB positions was a strength for us. Now it's a major weakness. Arnold is a great fit. He's not a slot
    corner.

It's been said so many times (that was at college, this is the pros) I'm not saying anything new.

I think it makes sense to watch tape of them going against current pros when they played vs them in college. Did they play against any of last years 1st and 2nd Rd picks who are now in NFL. How did they look when going against them? Vs how they look going against players that won't play in NFL. There's tape on that. I would not say only draft guys who played vs current pros. But it certainly will help in assessing their ability to get it done at next level.
And some players get better in the NFL
as is the case of one George Kittle who had the athletic ability.
Chris Simms points out this in his comp for Bowers.
Brock understands how to maximize the yards after the catch.
is he plowing through NFL LBs? No, but he'll be as good as anyone at getting first downs and TDs because he is a true mismatch.
If he's not a Charger catching passes from Herbert, he'll likely still have a HOF career imo.

Kittle was my favorite TE that draft, but not top rated. He put Edge/LBs and SS on skates at Iowa and then even pancaked a few. And it stood out to me. And then he ran well when tested. Plays through whistle. He has had bit of trouble staying healthy. Physical player. He was 9th TE taken. I think I liked him enough that he was TE 4-5 on my list. The #5 TE was taken in Rd2 45th overall that draft. And is not in NFL anymore. Shaheen from that NFL pipeline Ashland College.
Who has it better than us?

of several reasons, which have nothing to do with his talent or fit with the Chargers. I'll be super happy if we somehow land him, but I don't
              think it's happening.
if they don't draft bowers they sure as shit better draft one of the top WRs, otherwise Justin might go postal on their fucking asses!

I too can envision Bowers having that type of a career, the talent is there, the work ethic is there, the attitude is there, and he's a nice kid, what's not to like? what am I missing here? I don't want to be reading a year from now how nabers was racing with his friends on the 101 with an unregistered gun under his seat and high as fuck and drunk as fuck and fled the scene...doesn't he have some red flags from college? something to do with illegal guns or some such shit? as far as I know Bowers hasn't had any issues and I can't stand fucking WRs, they are the biggest fucking prima donnas on football teams...give me a mid round WR guy with a chip on his shoulder any day over these high falutin motherfuggers...remember how that punk ass fuck Jameson Williams reacted when the lions drafted him? yeah, fuck that, can't stand that shit...

Honestly don't know what they will do. All indications are that they want a smash mouth O line. So can't rule out an OT @5 or @11 or some time
in the 1st round. I'm inclined to believe that if they stay @5 MH2 or Nabers would be the pick. Our D is in need of several starters. I just don't see
a D guy @5 in this draft. But in a trade down a defensive guy wouldn't be a surprise.

My guess Herbert will see how the team is built understanding that if the OL is fortified and the run game improves - the passing game could improve just by those two things: better pass protection and a running game that keeps the defense honest

That said, I sure as heck wouldnm't mind seeing a talented WR for him to throw that is a game breaker

                        agree.....

and if we draft an elite Diva WR..... odds are we cannot afford his second contract so we will be trading him away after 4 seasons..... I dont think MHJ will have any attitude iussues but Nabors is frequently taunting the opposition......

Bowers is a class act..... and a relentless beast... with literally zero risk....best pass catcher after MHJ in this draft.... and fills a massive need...... there are many great fast WR's after the first round.....

the top 4 teams last year had the top 4 TE's in NFL but not top 5 or 10 WR's..... great TE's greatly improve short yardage offense and red zone offenses... matchup nighhtmares....

I think if we passed on a lot of WR talent, and we had a very subpar receiving year while missing the playoffs, He would request a trade at the end of next season. This would show a complete lack of understanding of his skillset and basically dilfering away our opportunities by having no receiver who can't make the tough catches when needed.
