I'd be surprised if we DIDN'T go OT with the first pick, if someone like Thomas is available. I certainly wouldn't want to reach( read: Fluker) again.
A guy like Simmons would be HUGE for our defense but at some point we actually need to build an O line, right?

Plus free agency activity or the lack thereof will dictate round 1 I believe. I really like Eason, the kid had all the tools and a head to match. I now see Love mocked to us by CBS IN ROUND 1!!!

I saw that mock and threw up in my mouth. Love has all the physical tools but is just not a good QB. He has so much bust potential that it just is not worth it.

There will be good tackles available early in the 2nd round.

If Thomas turns out to be a solid starting tackle and Simmons an All pro, it would be the wrong choice.

I don't think Wirfs is going to come in and seamlessly transition to right tackle, he has at least one flaw that he needs to correct.

The criticism of Eason is that he is lazy - he hasn't learned the Washington offense sufficiently and makes bad decisions;
that he depends too much on his talent (which is higher than anyone's imho).
On this i couldn't say; but if true, you tend to want to avoid such players, especially at qb.

a QB from the state of WA who's lazy ... when has that ever played out poorly for the Chargers? he did just declare for the draft ...and had a good bowl game in Vegas. I didnt see enough UDub football to rate him, i'll trust you guys

Some very good reasons to PASS on him. Learning an offense in the NFL only gets harder and talent only gets you so far in this league. You have to work at it.

Maybe...but was he in Washington for just one season? Didn't he come out of Georgia? Or was he there a couple of years...

he played one year at UW after sitting out a transfer year. He started 12 games at GA in 2016. Got hurt early n 2017, Fromm took over and that was it for him in GA. Transferred/sat in 2018.
