    Your repetitive statements get old.
Denver had as many or more starters out but you fail to acknowledge that.
It was Riech's fault for playing Rivers at CB and Oine. Amazing how people will combine about a stain on the carpet when the house is on fire. Rivers was the least of the Colts problems yesterday.

      Really. Post of the decade.
Too many Early down run calls vs New Orleans. Really?!!?
The Saints have one of the best pass rushing team in the league. They have pro bowl corners and pro bowl sack artists. And the arrogant poster calling people clueless suggests passing with the rookie in a game K. Allen left with injury early. In a game with Pipkins starting in place of Bulaga and Groy in place of Turner and Tevi at Left tackle. In a game with you best recieving RB Ekeler and best pass blocking RB is not there because he is on IR.

You want to go heavy pass with that roster vs that team. How they even had a chance in that game is a minor miracle that Lynn deserve credit for.

I bet you Chainy game plan vs Saints not only loses the game but loses it in a blowout with Herbert getting wrecked.

Is that your poster of the decade. The man with the plan to get Herbert wreaked and on IR. You have got to be joking me.

This is the blind leading the blind. The clueless leading the clueless.

Chain literally doesn't pay attention to the roster and the matchups. He has no clue who the starters were and what the matchups were or who left during game with injury in that Saints game because that is the only way he could make that claim to go pass happy early. He is very clueless about condition of roster and matchups. Chains football IQ is terrible. He think this team should be the #1 seed in the AFC based on talent. There is nowhere anywhere you can find anybody predicted a #1 seed for Chargers 2020 based on talent.

Chargers pre season predictions and notes.
you can trash them as terrible media. But here they are.

Defensive talent Bosa, James, Ingram, Hayward, Harris Jr is the strength of the team. The strength was injured quite a bit.

If they want a shot at post season play Tyrod. If they want to work on developing the future QB and don't care about post season play Herbert. Tough schedule to start and the teams in division each got better. It will be tough to make dramatic improvement.

Too many question marks on the offensive side.
Bad offensive line. Lack of RB depth. What will happen at QB.
The defense has some stars but it won't be enough to help them.

      CBS Sports
      7-9 no reason given.

9-7 no reason given. But stated Chargers would upset Cheifs twice as a bold prediction. And that still was only good enough for 9-7.

      Pro football network.
3rd in AFC West. No record prediction.
But said they would need to rely on defense stars to step up big in 2020.
So only one site puts them at a winning record and they had to upset KC twice to get to 9 wins.

Only Crusher had them as a super talented team that could earn #1 seed. All others predicted a roster with too many questions marks and not going to be good enough record to make post season. None of them mentioned coaching as a reason for a tough year. It was all about the roster and schedule. And how they stack up vs the rest of the AFC. They simply have many other squads as better constructed rosters that they expected to have better seasons than the Chargers.

The Chargers have done as predicted. There is no surprise.
Another reason Spanos Telesco will justify keeping Lynn. It was always a mulligan year transitioning to a new QB with a questionable o-line and RB depth.

You know darn well before 2020 started.
        7 AFC playoff Spots.
The 4.divsion winners and then 3 wildcard.
AFC Nobody thought Chargers could win the division.
So they need to win a wildcard spots.

The top teams predicted to win their division were,
        KC, Balt, Tenn, Buffalo

So Chargers were thought to be competing for wildcard with
        Steelers, Browns, Colts, Patriots, Texans.
And improving teams like Dolphins and Raiders

It was only the Bengals, Jaguars, Broncos and Jets that Chargers were supposed to be better than going into 2020.

It wasn't because of the HCs of these teams for these predictions, it was mostly about the rosters. As it should be because in sports it always starts with player talent and health.

Call me clueless. But Then so was everyone else who predicted no post season in 2020 based on how this team roster stacked up vs the rest of the league.

Why make excuses for him. Being a QB is tough. Yes sometimes your teammates make it even harder. And yes I agree that injury can hurt roster and make thinks harder. Yes complimentary football matters.

But he threw a terrible interception late 4th quarter on 1st and 10. You know team will typically get a couple drives a quarter per game. It was 4th quarter and he kills the drive with a that decision. He is playing the highest paid position getting his far share of the money. So he deserves his fair share of the blame. Rivers choked with game on the line.

It wasn't a stain. Rivers threw gas on the fire when he could have put out the fire with better decision at that point in the game. He can be a great QB and have difficult set of circumstances to deal with, but he also can be too carless with football at certain moments and hurt his team big time.

Its amazing how people continue to find scapegoats to deflect from some of Rivers flaws. It happen while he QB for Chargers and it happen when he QBs for Colts.

And even worse when Chargers players screw up and then we blame Lynn. Is Lynn playing OT or CB? Is he kicking the ball?

Look the players who struggle or screwed up for Colts get that blame. Rivers gets blamed for his screw up too. And since he plays the most important position. He gets more blame when it's bad and more credit when it's good. He had his chance to lead a winning drive and he choked.

True, but the persons on this forum did not get to see Herbert in practice versus Taylor, unlike Lynn.

One cannot see Herbert and see Taylor, especially next to each other, and fail to see which player is better. Lynn should have named Herbert as the starter, but he wanted to implement his crappy running game emphasis even though he was sitting there with a gifted passer all along. That thinking is inexcusable.

                    27. Anthony Lynn (Los Angeles Chargers)
I had ranked Lynn higher in years past, but it’s gotten to the point where his team has underperformed when you consider the talent available. The team had Super Bowl aspirations in 2019 but wound up going just 5-11 and finishing last in their division. Now losing the leadership of
                    Philip Rivers
, I’m expecting the team to continue trending in the wrong direction after a disappointing 2019. The defense has enough talent to win some games, but unless he wins the division, there may be someone else coaching this team in 2021 even though he signed an extension to be with the team through 2021.

No. Its to point out the consensus across the nation was that Chargers and their roster were not considered strong contenders to do anything special in 2020. And none pointed to coaches.

The Chargers suffered through an injury-riddled 2019 season and dropped to 5-11. Now life after Philip Rivers begins. The Chargers still have plenty of talent, and Lynn is the right coach to unlock another postseason run. Expect Los Angeles to bounce back.

NO's pass defense was so great that it yielded three first half passing TDs to Herbert and 4 passing TDs to Herbert overall. Despite this obvious success in the passing game, and with a 20-3 lead, the ball, and 2:30 left in the first half and with NO set to get the ball to start the second half, what does Lynn do? He runs twice and puts Herbert in 3rd and 12.

What intelligent coaches do is realize in order of importance 1) that they need to take advantage of this opportunity to put up points before the end of the half and 2) if it is possible while scoring, to try to run out the game clock. Intelligent coaches realize that keeping the ball against a team with three timeouts and the two-minute warning means getting multiple first downs. Keeping the ball and moving the ball means passing the ball as the entire first half clearly demonstrated.

Unlike intelligent coaches, Lynn makes #2 the priority over #1 and then fails to recognize how to accomplish #2, equating running the ball with killing the clock instead of getting first downs with killing the clock.

The result was a 3 and out, and a punt to the Saints in great field position. Instead of having a meaningful chance of adding points, we only led 20-10 with the Saints getting the ball. That was the precise moment when the momentum shifted and it was 100% foreseeable that that would be the exact result. That is how coaching can lose a team the game.

And, of course, on final possession in regulation, Lynn screwed up that drive by calling a first down running play and wasting a timeout. This, of course, has become the calling card of Lynn's hurry up offense idiocy all season long. I wonder if Badgley might have made the kick that should have been unnecessary to begin with, if Lynn had called a pass and we were another 10 yards up the field while possibly preserving that timeout that we had to waste because we were morons and called a running play with less than a minute to go deep in our own end.

These and other examples of flat out coaching idiocy are present in virtually every single game and Lynn has shown absolutely no ability to recognize or learn from these clear mistakes.

Regarding predictions, only Critty fails to understand that if you remove Taylor, who was recognized as a major weakness as one of the worst starting QBs in the league, and use a great QB like Herbert instead, that would naturally change the expected result.

Finally, I have merely stated that we should be competing right now for the #1 overall seed. Obviously, we should have beaten KC, so they would have two losses right now and would have a chance for a third if we were to beat them in week 17, which would have given us the tie breaker. That means I need to find 5 other wins for this team (to go from 7 with the first KC win to 12 right now). I will simply note that we should have won at least 5 of the following 7 games: CAR, @NO, @TB, @DEN, LV, @MIA and @BUF and Lynn made huge mistakes in all of those games except CAR. Against CAR, he simply did not have the team ready to play.

Incredibly, Lynn also made huge mistakes against JAX, ATL, @LV and DEN, but we won those games in spite of Lynn's major mistakes.

Not including CAR, Lynn has made major mistakes that few would dispute in 12 of our team's 15 games. I have never seen anything like this ever in over 46 years of following NFL football. That number of major mistakes increases to 13 games if you count the failure to start Herbert in week 1 as a major mistake.
