After watching that post game interview I feel like we hired the wrong former pro running back. It must be the legacy shit from his charger career that's holding him back here.

One more question: How calm and composed is Eric 15 minutes after the biggest win of his career? No one asked him what it meant to him. He was asked what it meant to Andy. The biggest moment of his life as well, and it wasn't brought up.

To the above about Daboll - I like him over names like Arthur Smith, Joe Brady and even Robert Saleh. Dave Taub is still the "first time HC" tops on my list - good experience, good mentors, probably has good array of assistants he has in mind. Also coaches ST - that will be close to his heart for that group to succeed

I just don't see Bieniemy wanting to coach against Mahomes when he can probably go to the Texans and coach up Deshaun Watson in the AFCSouth. But who knows - I do think Bieniemy is worth a phone call if the Chargers have a chance.

I am not that worried that he hasn't called plays. It has been reported he memorizes the play sheet that is put together so its easy for him to relay the play to Mahomes. But Bieniemy would be Head Coach - he cna hire a good OC/QB type to build a game plan.

I am looking for
detail oriented: both in games, film study, etc
game preparation: building a strategy to beat the opponent that might change week to week or in the game
teaching: day to day, week to week holding players accountable but also teaching them how to improve
gameday: clock and game management, strategy, going for two, when to go on fourth down, timeouts - etc
--one example, when the ball gets to around midfield does Lynn tell Steichen "hey if we get another first down it might be four down territory so think about that with your play calling" or does it get to fourth down and Lynn thinks "oh jeez, what do we do here - do we go, do we punt, do we kick the FG"

It just seems like Lynn is very reactionary and not thinking a play ahead, a series ahead, etc.

One other item I forgot to include regarding Joshy. When Craft and Belicheck were working him over to stay, they never promised he would be next HC of the Patriots after Belicheck left. All involved, including McDaniels are consistent on that. But what they did promise was a lot more insight into salary cap, personnell evaluation, training camp design, and a lot of other non-on the field stuff. He claims to have learned a ton of stuff the last two years doing that. So Joshy can make a compelling case. But I still don't like him.

Odds are against them picking another loser as head coach. It's a mathematical impossibility.

I personally think Josh McDaniels is a smoldering pile of shit in a hoodie, but I keep it to myself. I don't have to. I can open up a little more.....
