He was put on IR before the Houston games - which is a minimum of three games out. I think the smart prudent move since he did go to the hospital for observation. Even if the Chargers make the playoffs - might not see Parham the rest of this season.

Right. He's out for the last three games of the regular season but is eligible to return for any playoff games. However, there hasn't been a word about him that I've seen since he was put on IR. It seems extremely doubtful that the Chargers would activate him this season even if they could.

I think we go very far if we have all key players healthy especially on defense. This way even when the offense is having some inconsistencies, our defense can still give them time to get going again. Our main issue obviously is we’re too top heavy right now. We saw that in the Texans game. Among other problems that day. I feel like the Denver game was the first game this year where Herbert could struggle and we could still win.

I remember the year Indy had one of the shittiest defenses all year, and were winning with Manning but barely and not always. All of a sudden the switch flipped and they dominated in the playoffs en route to their SB win.

I’m not expecting the Chargers defense to switch to domination with a blink, but it’d be cool if they did. Now would be a good time. Can’ t tell based on DEN, their offense sucks

If its medically necessary then by all means. But “going to the hospital” doesn’t tell me enough to know anything.

I don’t get that bad, but i never watch MNF after a Charger loss and i don’t bother to watch ESPN highlights. It’s just not the same. I tried to watch MNF last night but it was such a shitty game … it bored me and my remote finger started twitching.

As painful as it was, the Texans game turned into a mini bye for many of our starters and we should be healthy and well rested for SNF

I don’t know what they found, and i don’t want to minimize it. But they took him immediately to the hospital, without full evaluations or diagnoses by neuro specialists. I’m just saying going to the hospital doesn’t automatically mean he must be out for a year.. do what is best for him of course.

Bridgewater did go to the hospital after his injury. He's done for the season with the rest of the team.

With something like what Parham experienced, there is also the psychological aspect. He may be physically healthy to play again, but is he mentally ready? How does he feel about getting hit again? Laying out for a pass? Cracking heads blocking someone? Getting creamed over the middle? With all the CTE stuff, how is he thinking about that and long term effects.

I really don't think he plays this year, even in the playoffs. But everyone is different and every game is different. If Chargers go to the superbowl for instance, he may feel differently about that than a playoff game or last reg season game. Ronnie Lott had the doctors amputate part of his finger so he could go back in a game.
