JJ will be hurt. for me the over/under is he even healthy at Game 1, forget the whole season. But I expect Rountree is in front of him on the depth chart, and he’s got a bit of power too (more than JJ or Kelly).

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Justin Jackson as a rookie was hurt all training camp and preseason and still made the team. I remember scratching my head on that one. I mean how can you evaluate a player who never practices or plays? Then when he stepped in against the Steelers, I told myself this coaching staff really knows what they are doing with talent evaluation. But with the benefit of hindsight, might have been better off him not making the team. The poor guy is just always hurt and is out for weeks/months at a time.

It looks like Nabors makes the team again and he and Herbert are besties. Reed seems like a goner. Amen might be IR'd? Seems like they really like him

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Maybe we'll get to see Slater for a time at Seattle?

If Staley is as smart as I think he is, he'll cut Pip and meet with TT to sign the best FA OT, or poach the best OT that one of the other teams tries to sneak onto their PS...and that's IF the new signee is an upgrade over Darius Harper, who didn't look too bad vs. the Niners...

Staley isn’t responsible for cutting players. He can tell TT that Pipkins has no business playing professional football and should be bagging groceries instead at the nearest Whole Foods. But at the end of the day it’s up to TT whether or not he can put his ego aside and cut a player that he drafted in the top 3 rounds of a recent draft.

Not just Telesco but all GMs generally give their top 3 drafted selections more time to figure things out because of how it looks to cut a player that was drafted that high. Unless the player has off field issues too.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

                          - 69-74 record
                          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
                          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
                          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
                          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
                          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
                          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games
