And you trust your D to step them when they’re on your 45, but not when they’re on their 25? What’s the analytics say about that? Put the O 30 yards further down the field and expect them to have a better chance to win the game?

Agree with everything you said except the part of Jacoby Brissette being considered a backup qb. Yes he’s the backup, but I’d go so far to say that he’sa better qb than Deshawn Watson so there’s that.

Speaking of backup qbs, when we play Seattle in a couple of weeks, we’ll be playing against our former backup Geno Smith. He sucked as our backup, but he’s playing like a first class starting qb this year. That game will be a tough one.

Yep...BTW, Rich Bisaccia is available...was interim HC with Raiders, and asst. HC with Cowboys, Bucs and Chargers, plus ST's...all he did was took over as HC after the Chuckie mess last season and took the Raiders to the playoffs...look at them now...hire him in a couple weeks at the start of the bye...

After opening up the chequebook and going all in while Herbert is on his rookie contract window...if this team flops and misses the playoffs...do you think Staley AND Telesco are in trouble? Would the Spanos act? Do you think they are aware Peyton wants to coach in LA?

I will say one thing about the AFC West

It is not just the great drafts, Mahomes, and the roster that keep the Chiefs on top of this division forever.

The gulf between Andy Reid and the other 3 head coaches in this divison is massive.

I thought Bisaccia should have been kept by the raiders. He did a good job for them. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the Chargers hire him.

Can we rename this the Staley discussion thread - like the fire Lombardi thread became - so no one is tempted to start a Staley support thread?

The fire Staley agitators really should wait another month. The Chargers have three consecutive games against losing teams, two of them at home. If the Chargers fail to beat any of these teams - extenuating circumstances such as injury notwithstanding - then you might have something to complain about. Because if they win all three games to improve to 6-2 on a 5-game win streak, your whining now is going to look pretty silly.
