I can't believe an offhand joke about Herbert being responsible for the Chargers moving in to LA after he predicted he would be a football player in Los Angeles during a time that there was no team in Los Angeles is eliciting this kind of response.

I'd joke that he could have lived in Los Angeles and commuted down to play for the San Diego Chargers, but I wouldn't want to be accused of belittling Herbert's aspirations.

Whether it's Payton or someone else, how about we try something different for once?

Bring in a head coach who has some proven winning experience and let him build the staff that surrounds him.

The chargers have been the definition of insanity for 3 inexperienced coaches in a row now ( not to mention hiring a proven loser in Norv prior to that). Don't you think it's time we try something different?

That is a serious sticking point of mine about him continuing.

The D, until JC Jackson went down, was basically healthy - sans Bosa.
Yet, it is at the bottom.

They let some good defenders walk.

That’s it for me as well. Last season the excuse was he didn’t have his guys. Well now he has his guys and we’re no better. We changed a lot of players and let guys go who are very productive for their new teams. That points to one thing and one thing only; he’s out of his depth

It seems that Staley is really counting on the Mack-Bosa combination to cover up any shortcomings.

It is not unheard of for a defensive scheme to fail miserably for a while, and then finally and suddenly, it all coming together.
