Whatever Lombardi’s contract is for, he’ll get paid even if he’s terminated tomorrow.
Please do. I think we might save everyone's sanity including the entire offense if he was. Addition thru subtraction.

Fun debate on whether Herbert will stay and sign big contract or seek to leave on Rich Eisen,

This would also send a message to Herbert that his contract will not go to waste - I've said it before and I'll say it again - missing 3 years of playoffs with Herbert at the helm is unforgiveable. I could see Herbert leaving at the end of his first contract if this nonsense keeps up. He has seen what this organization has done to guys like Rivers.
You bring up a good point.

If you cant make the playoffs in 3 years of Justin Herbert (setting passing records on a rookie contract) your braintust is a joke. Pretty embarassing.

Even last year, many analyists were pointing the finger at Staley and saying how can you not make the playoffs with Justin Herbert?

We will see. 10 games left.

No question the main NFL media is questioning the Chargers and Brandon Staley regularly. Still no league wide respect.

Uchenna Nwosu is leading the league in pressures.

So Staley, who is supposed to be a defensive guru didn’t see value in Nwosu but Carol did and has coached him up.

From top to bottom, Chargers coaches and player evaluators suck.

Agreed. We have yet to beat a good team this season and we have lost miserably now to the JAGS who are horrible and a middle of the pack Seahawks team. The crappy teams we have beaten, we barely beat (one of them by sheer luck, no thanks to our guru of a HC).

The writing is already on the wall. This is not a good football team.

Herbert ain't going anywhere and hasn't juice. He'll stay in L.A. and be on his way toward nearly half a billion in career earnings.
This is exactly the mindset that will keep this team from ever winning a championship. The future is tomorrow and tomorrow never comes.

When they came to LA no one gave a damn about the Chargers.

There is one reason and one reason only this team has a chance in the LA market. His name is Justin Herbert, a bankable blossoming west coast super star...if the Chargers dont fuck him up.

Personally i would have hired a Daboll or a Peyton to maximize the gift that fell to these bozos in the 2020 draft. It is more than a winning plan, it is a business plan.
Hell can Payton just take over both HC and GM responsibilities? Since the Spanos clan are so cheap - they can axe both Stayley and TT and trade in for Payton. I'm sure he'd still be too expensive for their taste. What would it cost, 20 Mil a year?

Considering his reputation, the starting point will likely be a 2023 first-round pick.
It would be a significant price to pay and Payton will also likely want a contract extension to become one of the highest-paid NFL coaches. While the financial burden might be a significant barrier for owner Dean Spanos, it could be justified if the Chargers believe Payton will make them one of the best teams in football."

So in other words, snowball's chance in hell.

You think Herbert cares about the money? If that's all we can offer, he's likely to go anywhere else where he doesn't have to play 17 away games every season. He wants to win, and he's going to go where he has the best chance to help him accomplish that goal. It's not guaranteed he'll stay.
