Once we are out of PO race Staley should go.
    Playing injuried Herbert vs Jax.
    This fu**ing call today.
There are 32 HC positions in NFL he really does not need to be one.

Just NO.. You'd only do that if there were a player insurrection against him, and that's just not the case.

It would be monumentally disruptive to fire Staley now. You wait until the end of the season, and then evaluate based on the entire season, not based fan outrage five games into the schedule.
      .
This where I'm at. If he does another three of these mental lapses during the rest of the season then yes...he gets fired. My gut feeling is that he felt his defense was diminished enough that it was worth the risk. Problem is we needed a better 4th down play. An average OC is putting us in a precarious position too often.

Ekeler led the league in scoring last season. He was better than Deebo Samuel last season in total yardage and points scored. He is a very consistent in producing yards and points.

What should the call have been? People already are complaining about trying to run, despite us rushing for 238 yards. Williams caught 10 of 13 passes and was going against a 3rd string corner. Allen is out. I'd have either thrown a pass similar to that route to Williams or perhaps a swing pass to Ekeler. The reality is the corner made a good play.

Call something to another receiver. Using the same magic trick 10 times in a row was going to misfire at some point. So we're down to one reliable receiver? Egads we are in big trouble going forward.

If at the end of the season the Browns and the Jags and KC are all in the playoffs the start to this season will look very different.

                Asking for rationality is futile.

Who said that? Ekeler and Williams were dominating the entire game. If we had gone to someone else, you know damn well the whining would have been even worse in here.

Herb didn't have time to look for less-well-covered receivers, and had to make the throw that he did.

It wasn't an un-catchable ball, but Williams-- who sometimes secures those-- didn't on this occasion.

To me, the right play call would have involved Herb rolling out, and having two primary targets. The idea would be to hit an obviously open target, or weigh the possibility of running for the short yardage needed. IMO, one of those three options would have gained the necessary two yards, or more.

That's right, Euro, already forgot about Staley playing a hurt Herbie in garbage time and risking further injury-inexcusable. Couple that with going for it on 4th and 1 and epic failing vs. the Browns, PLUS that bonehead blunder fail on a 4th and 1 last year IN OUR OWN TERRITORY...that's THREE of the absolute WORST calls in NFL history...sorry, Staley just isn't a qualified NFL head coach...quit playing around and hire a REAL coach...oh, and did I mention, please take Lombo with him?

that 4th down call is something we can correct by tomorrow. IF we needed a QB, that would be a big if.
