Don’t put words in my mouth as I have never said, hinted or implied that.

      Thought so.

What more San Fran was bad team when he took over back then and still is without top 10 QB.

Give Shanahan Herbert and let Brandon has Jimmy G....

      Thought so.

      Have a great night.
Would I want the car salesman of NFL coaches who has no idea what the hell he’s doing; or the Son of the Rat, who is a competent NFL coach and would undoubtedly achieve better results?

With the former, I’m pulling for the coach to be fired; with the latter, I’m pulling for him and his dad to suffer a fiery, painful death and rot in hell.

      Coin toss.

If he manages to 'luck' into it he'll take it, but that's the only way this organization wins a SB (unless there's a change in ownership)
all of the above - its too much work for him to be good

but I also think he isn't very bright.

So that means they gave Josh something like a 6 year 60m contract

My guess, Josh is smiling today in a way

                    45 mil dropped into you bank account would tend to take some of the sting out of it . . . . . . . . . . .

                      Same with Jimmy G
His 2024 salary is guaranteed. He is probalby like "give me that ball cap and I will stand right over here on the sidelines"

We, on the other hand, will suffer thru the rest of the season watching mediocre football, and THEN the Spanos might actually do something about it . . . . . .. . but no promises
We’ll suffer through the season because Spanos is more patient than most owners, for good or bad. It’s not like firing Staley now necessarily gives the Chargers a leg up on the coaching search. Especially if a guy they want is currently on a playoff team. Davis was stupid to pay McDaniel that much in the first place. And he’s a good example of going with retread as HC.

There are different kinds of retreads

McDaniel was not good in Denver and he was not good with the Raiders
Jim Caldwell was good with the Colts (yes he had Manning) but with the Lions - the moribund Lions, he was over .500

Quinn finished one game over .500 in Atlanta but that included going 7-14 in his final 21 games before he was fired

So in terms of a retread - past performance does matter.

Harbaught, guy won at USD, he won at Stanford and of course the Niners and now Michigan

Hell, look at Jason Garretts record in Dallas - well over .500
