Pederson might be the first. He won with Philly and the Jags have gotten a lot better with all those high picks for years. Suck for five years and then have a competent coach come in sounds good to me.

I just have to think it is an interview problem with him. He may be coming in winging it, and appears unprepared, or that the GM or owner isn't comfortable with him in the other roles that an HC fills. Regardless, I think it is way too premature to speculate on Staley's replacement, for football reasons, after only 3 games. I think Staley has lots to fix, you have to give him a chance to at least try.

Let's face it, Lovie Smith is quite capable of pulling a Doug Pederson. I figure in a close game, Smith will be able to develop the game-changing play that Staley will not be capable of. As of yesterday, I saw the Chargers were still 5 point favorites. I wonder if that will drop to 2.5 or 3 by game time or maybe a pick-em if Herbert doesn't go. I have to believe the Texans are going to get some action after all the bad Chargers press this week.

If the Chargers should ever get whomped 45-17, Staley won’t ever call a spade a spade at the presser (“we got our asses kicked”). He’ll just go into his usual job preserving damage control speak. One other thing to remember, TT and the Spani never fire headcoaches until it’s painfully and overdue obvious.

That's why to me Jim Harbaugh is the perfect choice, he has unfinished business in the NFL. Take a look at what he did in SF when Colin Kaepernick was his QB! Harbaugh also developed Andrew Luck and worked with Alex Smith which made him a better QB... He would also probably use our running game perfect around Herbert's game.

IF we don't make the playoffs you simply replace TT and Staley with Harbaugh and bring in a GM he would agree to work with. He was almost the coach of the Vikings last season.... This off season you make him an offer he can't refuse. That is IF Staley and Co. can't get it together fast.

It's less about Staley and who he selected to run his coordinator positions and the training staff. The guy still has potential I just don't see it right now with what he has as a staff. The problem is you have two years to make an impression and if you don't have answers you will be shown the door.

I think with Spanos they would require a change in his coordinator staff and the training staff for an additional two years. So far, with me, Staley's planning has been so subpar that I would even make make plans mid season this year.
