People can’t be happy. They don’t like a ************ coach like Lynn yet they criticize a coach who is aggressive.


The analytics says go for it. What do you expect. Out the damn game away by going for it.

It’s not question of ************ or aggressive to me. It’s dumb and smart. Wasn’t a smart decision by Staley. If they had made it there wouldn’t be a difference in how I felt about it or whether it made sense. It was an unnecessary gamble. Risk outweighed reward

I will put it this way.
To fire Staley now would be to condemn the Chargers to another decade or two of chargering.
Many are missing the big picture--transforming the Charger football culture.
They are so busy playing amateur Xs and Os guy and amateur personnel guy.

The Chargers have more wins than losses, and are just one game out in the competition for not only the division lead but for the No. 1 seed. Those of you calling for coaches to be fired right now are way out of line. If the Chargers falter in the weeks ahead and fail to make the playoffs, then your belly aching will be justified. But right now the team is winning and you are whining. It defies belief.

I like the aggressive nature of his 4th down calls (when they work) but it seems he never weighs the risk/reward on some which to me is obvious and kind of odd as he seems to weigh analytics but his 4th down completion% isn't great and he should consider it. How ,any games have we lost because of his failed 4th down conversions?

If the analytics say it increased the chances of winning vs punting, did the risk really outweigh the reward?

The Chargers could win the SB, but the "fans" you refer to will still complain that everything didn't go perfectly and the Chargers should've won by three more touchdowns.

As Staley has referenced, it took a while for Fangio's concepts to take hold in Chicago.

We will adjust, and play slightly better D, more consistently.

You're assuming Staley will actually start making logical, high-percentage game-day decisions...can a tiger change his stripes? Can Staley change? After last season and this season so far, not much evidence of this...

he had been very tame this season, almost passive - then he went full berserk today.
