IMO, Sarrell is really a RT, I think the chargers were assessing him to see if he could potentially have a future at swing tackle and that might have affected his preseason grades this year…I don’t think he clears waivers…the film he put on tape from playing RT with the ravens last year alone will get him a shot somewhere else, a lot of NFL teams are looking for young guys with upside and with a full year of experience under his belt Sarrell will have suitors, he also benefits from the notoriety of having been the #1 OL recruit in his class in the country coming out of high school. I’m not sure the chargers will be able to stash him on the PS…

Sarrell is a big dude, ain't no skinny arms or legs on him. I tried to watch him as much as I could during games. It looked to me like he plays with his hands too close to his chest, not extended enough. But he's big enough that it's really hard to get around him. And he did a good job imo of directing rushers past the QB. I think I saw one bad rep early in the first game and one bad rep in the last game.

Norton might be the better/safer option for backup right now, but I wonder who has the higher ceiling? Also, since Norton didn't win the starting job after being a starter last season, do the Chargers release him so he can have a better chance to start elsewhere while we develop a young, stronger more athletic RT?

I'd hate to look back in 1 or 2 years and be like "Well, he had him...."

FYI-- Tomorrow is the day that all NFL teams must cut their rosters down to 53 players.

Some of those cuts will likely come in advance of the deadline. I'll post whatever I can find.

The Chargers' roster is currently at 80 players, I believe.

The Bolts always seem to be a among the last teams to post their cuts. Perhaps on the last few cuts, they look at who’s been cut elsewhere first. Cut players where there’s an excess available, keep players where there’s a shortage.

The #Steelers cut TE Jace Sternberger, per source.

Former third-round pick was with #Chargers TE coach Kevin Koger in Green Bay in 2019-20.

The Vikes are talking with teams about trading 4th year RB Alexander Mattison. He's stuck behind Dalvin Cook on Minn's roster and he wants to be a starter. He'd be stuck behind Ekeler here, plus, frankly, nothing about his production in three seasons screams "starter" to me. His ypc last season was 3.7 (4.2 career avg) and he scored 3 rushing and 1 receiving TDs. He's 5-11, 215 lbs. About Kelley's size. Pass?

From the L.A. press? They couldn't even make the time to fly out to NOLA for the last game, per a source to Peter King. No one (but I think I heard Popper in the press conference.)

Here we go, drips and dribbles, from the player's agents.

He showed pretty good, but being the 7th or 8th WR is not going to get you a roster spot.

Don’t early releases tend to end up on the PS?
