My hunch is that Staley is very passionate about calling the D and a bit of a control freak.
I don't expect any significant change at DC anytime soon.

I guess that Staley thinks he can train Hill to run his system.
It's been bad long enough.

Guessing he'll be one of the first departures of the offseason. They've got to be terribly disappointed in him.

My impression is that Hill is DCINO and that Staley really runs the defense, similar to what is said about Eric Bieniemy in KC, that he is OCINO because it's Reid who runs that offense.

Blaming Hill for the performance of the defense is silly. This is Staley’s D. It seems that the NFL shifted so quickly to multiple teams featuring running attacks that the Staley put a roof on it light box has been exposed and become outdated overnight. His lack of emphasis on quality LBs is the Achilles heel.

We all know there is plenty of blame to go around. Injuries, poor game planning/coaching and development, not adapting to scheme changes required by changes in the NFL landscape (good point btw), poor adjustments or lack of, bad personnel decisions. Hill could be a little or a lot of the problem, I think he's a lot.

I see assumptions & conclusions based on them without knowing who does what ( Staley/ Hill ).
IF Staley is running the D,Staley needs a quality DC.

It seems like there must be something out there that would satisfy those proposed criteria. Perhaps an echo chamber?
