Haven’t they expected he wasnt available the start of camp for several months, and the question is will he be available by start of reg season?

Neither of them have earned their first round contracts, thats for sure

Right now Tillery. At least Murray showed promise his rookie season.

I will never get over that game. I slept outside the stadium the night before that game, in a lawn chair and on the concrete. Ok, mostly we drank and partied all night but still … it was a dank cold San Diego winter with harsh extremes in the valley that night. We were 3rd in line to buy AFCCG tickets. THIRD! I would have had the best non-season ticket holder seats available in the stadium. Me and my friend had cash in our pockets to buy the max allowed of 4 each.

throughout the game, we’re stuck outside the ring … holding our coveted #3 spot in line, missing the actual game - which I guess in hindsight was just as well. I had a tiny 12” battery powered B&W tv with shitty rabbit ear reception going in and out. And through the concrete walls, all game long, we hear … cheer cheer moan. Cheer cheer moan. Cheer cheer sigh gasp moan. Thud. And out saunter the happiest Houston fucks with the biggest stupidest cowboy hats, all chuckling and laughing.

Third in line. Sigh.

He injured his ankle early and played on it all year. They were waiting for it to heal but it wasn't healing so he had surgery in March.

This is kind of a BS statement. It's not Herbert's fault the Chargers didn't make the playoffs in either of his first two seasons. He's played more than well enough for the Chargers to get into the playoffs. But he doesn't play defense. No QB, no matter how good, is going "lead his team to the playoffs" if the defense sucks.

Tom Telesco has been the GM since 2013. Surely he would have fixed the defense given 8 years on the job.

I do think his surgeon just guessed wrong on Murray's healing ability.

Coaches have input. You think TT spends, trades, drafts D this off-season the way he did if Staley ain’t the HC?

We’ve had some pretty shitty HCs during TT’s tenure.
