Comparing guys we know are inadequate to guys who haven't proven that they suck? I'll take a chance on may be adequate or better..

Intangibles = mature, good teammates by all accounts and cares about the game. I believe he will try hard to be a starter again.
        G-Ro knows.

I like this. He admits he underperformed last year and needs to work harder. First step to improvement is self awareness.

very salvageable as a number 2 with our roster

Ohhhh man, I've never been a Sam Darnold fan, even as QB2. Hard pass. I'd much rather have Daniel Jones, but I think the preference would be Mitchell Trubisky. I guess.

#9 gets healthy, picks up where he left off last year. Not much. Gotta save face TT. Oh wait, he magically puts up first year numbers by mid season, but then gets put on IR. He eventually gets let go. TT loved him as a superior physical specimen when drafted. The guy is a total fail, all the way to the bank. I hated his stupid number change too, but have to admit it was easier to track his stupid play last season.TT gotta save face tho.

Let’s not forget he also told the Broncos to fuck off and remained a Charger. Hope he gets right this year I’m still a fan.

Darnold had some good games where he looked like the real deal with the Jets. Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, Mitch Trubisky - these are guys who have legit NFL talent but are not consistent enough to be starters. That is why they are better suited to be backups. They can come in and play at a high level on a temporary basis, they have significant playing experience. As much as I like Stick, he doesn't have any playing experience, and that is a big deal. If Herbert has to leave a game with an injury, or miss a few weeks, I'd rather have somebody who has that experience replacing him on the field.

also Davis wont be covering the #1 WR on most plays, that will be JC Jackson. Covering #2 or #3 should be easier task

What are the current thoughts on Kelley vs Spiller ?

                          I am still leaning Kelley.
