and so much for bringing up bandy and moore...or less. did they even need to be covered today? now they're gonna have to go get another trash-heap WR to replace MikeWill? That ankle looked NASTY in the replay.

It's a shame that Herbert's talent drags many of the passing numbers up and makes people defend this absolute hack.
Not sure if you watched the game but Herbert wasn't all that great today. He isn't himself with the ribs and I'm sure if affects his throws, maybe a little anxiety in getting hit or whatever. He is out there but he isn't himself. And now with MW out he has scrub WRs to throw to.

this is when Justin is gonna have to elevate the play of his teammates. I remember Rivers playing with some pretty scrubby WRs and he still got it done. Maybe this offseason he should have film sessions with Rivers on how to read D's.

Rivers wasn't that great either with his rib injury. That was the bigger point. And now he has less help while injured and not himself.

Jaylen Guyton and Tyrone Johnson were considered scrub UDFAs before given a chance in 2020 with Justin Herbert. At this point, it's not the talent, it's the coaching, their evaluation of talent, and lack of creative play design.

What bothers me also is that Herbert was so efficient under pressure in 2020, now he's starting to look like a bit of a scrub in that department.

Do you people keep forgetting he is injured? Of course she isn't himself. And he hasn't looked that great because of it. Geez.
Some of you guys would moan and move gingerly getting up from your desk to get coffee at the office with his injury.
He hasn't looked great but he has a reason. He is gutting it out but don't expect him to be moving and slinging it like normal.

I wonder how many passes were deep routes that got batted down?

No offense but there is no offense. It's all lets give it to Ekeler, Everett, or whoever is lucky to catch the ball from JH10 when he's on the run.

Herbert is no Rivers. He has more physical talent but doesn't have the dog mentality Rivers did. On 3rd and 13 Rivers would hang in there and throw the ball past the sticks. Something is missing with Herbert he just doesn't seem to have enough angry desire to win. Desire which would enable him to fully use his physical skillset moving around, scrambling, and getting the ball down the field.

Rewatch last season's last game.Herbert has fight in him but he also has busted ribs,a wimp ass o line that cant pass or run block,WRs with no separation skill,a downright horrible OC,and a first time coach running it all.Herbert is one of the very few bright spots on the SpAnus owned aberration of a team.
