He's a strong armed QB with a lot of physical ability that goes wasted. He's a checkdown machine that doesn't take chances. He can scramble, but he doesn't. He can throw it 60 yards on a rope, but he won't. I think this is just who he is. His play never measured up to his physical ability at Oregon either, he always looked like he was playing scared.
What the hell are you smoking? :smoking:

Also Troy Aikman who was doing the broadcast, noted late in the game that there were little to none deep plays from the Chargers. I guess you can look at this 2 ways. Eventually if the D allows it we will be using the deep game at some point and time in the season. Or I could be wrong but when Tom Brady was at his best with the Pats, it went very similar with their play calling.

The master key to all this is if the QB has a high completion rate in this sort of O, the win usually comes in a systematic way!

Especially with Clapp in there, Herbert didn’t have the time to go deep unless he changes the timing of his throws.

He will have to throw the ball to a spot versus waiting like he’s been doing as he checks down every fricking receiver.

I think that's the most incorrect take I've read this year.

What did you think in the first two seasons when he was hitting the long ones and running for first downs? In fact, even this year in the first two games he was doing very well. What changed? The rib injury plus some OL injuries and losing our #1 WR.

                  Yep. Lombo.

I’m afraid Lombo may have already ruined him in less than two seasons :mybrainhurts:

                          And we are 4-2.
