These 1st down runs wouldn't be such an issue if TT had the wits to draft a power RB that can actually gain some yards using his strength. It's depressing after watching some of the other backs chewing up the yards on Sunday, and it isn't because they all have awesome Olines, either. If you don't mix up some runs they will tee-off on poor JH all day. Maybe try shuffling the run/pass order a wee bit? This isn't all on Lombardi, whoever is building our roster has to also answer to this, too.

Chargers fans have been outraged with Joe Lombardi since last season and Fred Warner just justified all of those frustrations.
“It is one thing for frustrated fans to blame the offensive coordinator for the play-calling, it is another thing for players on the other defense to expose Lombardi's offense. That is exactly what 49ers linebacker Fred Warner did after Sunday night, explaining how the 49ers defense was able to essentially stay in the same exact defense the entire second half.”

We've already had pundits and players saying the same dating back to last year. This isn't anything new. I fear at some point Keenan Allen is going to demand a trade out of here, which would be akin to Megatron retiring after the Lions' mediocre 2014-2015 season(s) offensively. The below article from 2015 on Joe Lombardi and the comments within by Lions fans are eye-opening.One of the things that offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi learned during his first season with the Lions is that getting the ball to Calvin Johnson isn’t as easy as just telling him to run down the field and throwing the ball in his direction.Lombardi learned that the way he could use Johnson was impacted heavily [more]

This tweet from 2014 by a reporter covering the Lions is hilarious given some of the recent posts here. Sometimes, the monkey never learns.

This is a frightening article.
Almost like reading an article from the future that Popper will be forced to write soon about his time with us.G-Ro knows.
