Ekler for Antonio Gibson and 5th round pick

    Thoughts?

I think Gibson was under used in Washington and did have to learn RB as he was receiver in college so you know he can catch passes. Has one 1000 yard season under his belt. Had 11 TDs last year

    Only 24 years old
    6 ft 2 220
    runs 4.39

so brings much needed speed and explosiveness to this offence

I would do it as you also move a discontented player in Ekler who is 4 years older and wants way more money. Remember, Chargers want to pay for future production not past production. Moore might have fun with this guy
If Washington can sign him to an extension - I think it makes sense. I wonder if the Chargers throw in a 5th - they can get the Washington 4th rounder. I really want more 2-4th rounders

It's going to take three parties to agree. I don't see it happening before FA and the draft is over. By then the Chargers and other teams will know what they have. Some desperate team that's not happy with their RB situation could possibly take the bait.
All reasonable points, I just posted it to see what you guys thought of the return package

A reminder we have a SB caliber QB. One hopefully not content to help sell popcorn for the next 5 years.

A 5th round pick? That's too low. Try to get a 2nd or 3rd from Washington.

Gotta win a playoff game before you call him Sb caliber

I just looked at the Commanders draft order, #16. In perfect position to take Gibbs. Of course I don't know anything about their needs,
              but if the shoe fits.......

I know nothing about Gibson. But I looked at his stats. His YPC are dismal. Maybe the guy is better suited as a receiver or the Commanders
are running him into brick walls. With his speed seems like they should be running outside with the guy where is YPC would be much higher
due to the opportunity of longer runs.

With the draft around the corner and the plethora of RB available Ekeler is worth a bag of chips. This can all change after FA
and the draft. But right now nobody is giving up anything for him.

QB is Definitely not what's holding us back from a trophy.

QB is not even close to the problem with the Chargers

                    Defense is terrible
                    Zero running game
                    No real playmakers on offense

Though I usually look at Over-the-Cap, I have a link to Spotrac. This is DEFINITELY why Ekeler thinks he's worth $12+M.

Austin Ekeler contract and salary cap details, full contract breakdowns, salaries, signing bonus, roster bonus, dead money, and valuations.

It sucks for the guy. I get it. He probably outplayed that contract. Through no fault of his own - -Lombo loved those little dump offs as the running game was not good and injuries to WRs and Telesco thought Michael Bandy and Jason Moore were NFL calibre players (note:: theyaren't)

But moving forward - with where his numbers and production SHOULD BE - he is being paid the right amount I think. In a normal offense, he would be a solid 3rd down option who gets 400 yards rushing and maybe 60 catches on the year.
