This is precisely one of the points I made earlier. If yer going to run Gordon up the gut, at LEAST have Rivers under center and either run the quick opener to Watt BEFORE the Chefs stack the box and stuff the run, OR have Watt lead block for Gordon, but preferably outside and not up the gut. But when Rivers stands back in the shotgun like a statue and hands the rock off to Gordon, everybody in the stinkin' STADIUM knows where Gordon's going...and he got stuffed...Pitiful playcalling. Pitiful:

Hayward played at a high level his first two years with us. Since then, his play has dropped off quite a bit. Look at his picks and PD's first two years with Bolts compared with past two years:

The last couple of years he has had a lot less passes thrown his way as well so naturally his PD and ints will be down.

PFF's Mike Renner details the top cornerbacks by coverage grade through eight weeks of play in the 2019 NFL regular season.

            6. CASEY HAYWARD JR. 81.9

Year after year Hayward has been a top-10 cornerback with the Chargers. Over the past three seasons, only Stephon Gilmore has a higher coverage grade than Hayward. Targeting him this season has netted opposing QBs only a 59.2 passer rating.

'Cat.... not sure, and.... seems like he had a similar pattern @GBay.... solid stats outta the gate, and then maybe the league wised up re: throwing @him and his stats tailed off ??

hopefully he's still got another coupla few years in the tank for us.... ?? (nervous that CB is apparently a priority for team Tommy John ?)
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

The last really good coordinator this organization had, they fired....go figure.

                Same goes for head coach,

Hayward’s play has dropped off? Wow. He is one of the best corners in the league and had a very good year.

Still rated 6th. You showing stats all the time just shows how you don't know what your looking at on the field.

When you aren't thrown at a much of course your not going to get as many passes defended. Who wouldn't throw at Facyson more than Hayward?

Not too long ago, I cited some PFF stats on one of our players, and several posters jumped in and said PFF's stats were inaccurate...

I think they should be taken with a big grain of salt, but in this case they match what I have seen of his play. He is a very good corner.

Take OL this year, then draft either Lawrence or Fields in 2021.
