The replacements for each will probably be a step down this year.

Did they bring anyone in near the calibre of khalil Mack or JC Jackson?
Disagree. They got younger at all those positions so there is definitely a question about how quickly the talent will mature, but if not right away, they are setting up Mahomes for a long run of dominance. Reid is a great coach and they are a class franchise so the division will continue to go thru them until further notice.

    IMO
    1) KC
    2) Denver (wild card)

Raiders and Chargers round out the division, but both probably win 8 or 9 games and narrowly miss the playoffs. The division and the entire AFC are just so tough this year. And we lucked out last year without any truly devastating injuries which means we are unfortunately due this year. Refs, bad bounces whatever - add that to the usual mix of which we rarely seem to be the beneficiary of.

It’s articles like this that give the little nuances of the game that fans like us miss. A lot of people wanted Araiza because he can boom it. But how’s his hang time, wind up, accuracy on shorter fields? And apparently, how’s his holding ability?

In today's NFL, punters must also hold for field goals and extra points, and if they can't master that skill, they could be a liability.

Despite taking less than 1.3 seconds to do, holding for field goals and extra points is crucial.

Every year teams move on from punters because of inconsistent holds. Or, as with the Bills last season, they might choose to suffer with a struggling punter because he’s too good at the side job.

“It’s a trade in and of itself,” Moorman said.

That’s why the Bills will have an interesting decision to make this year.

General manager Brandon Beane called punter Matt Haack an “elite holder” on Saturday, just a couple of hours after the Bills selected Matt Araiza — aka the “Punt God” — in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Whenever a team thinks highly enough of a punter to spend draft capital, he’s a safe bet to make the final roster.

Araiza, however, never has held in a game because he also was San Diego State’s kicker.

As Beane conceded — and as Moorman witnessed every summer — even elite athletes aren’t guaranteed to be effective holders. Buffalo’s big-legged former punter Corey Bojorquez this offseason joined his fourth team in 14 months largely because he’s an inconsistent holder.

“Those things can happen,” Beane said. “You get some holders that are late getting it down, late getting it the way (the kickers) want it, give them the laces.”

This offseason the Bills might need to weigh the value of one role over the other. In a play-to-play comparison, a punt might mean more than a hold, but the high-flying Super Bowl contenders kick for points significantly more often than they punt.

Not sold on Denver, but agree KC is tops in the AFCW until proven otherwise.

                DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

He hasn’t been moved due to character issues or injury concerns. He just hasn’t found the right fit. He thought he found it with the Raiders but that didn’t last long. In a recent interview with Tyler Dunne, Ngakoue finally broke his silence on the trade and was quite blunt regarding his feeling about the Raiders.

“They’ll see how I feel when we play them,” Ngakoue told Dunne. “We go to their house. They’ll see why they f****d up.

“They’re going to have to pay. They’ll pay.”

Agree - somebody has to beat them on the field and in the standings. Paper and analysts on NFLN or ESPN - doesn't mean a thing

Chargers finished in 3rd so right now - to me, third best team

Chargers #2. They underachieved with potential, said potential, to be #1 that, will be proven on the field.

                      I think you're vastly under-rating our team.
We've gotten much better @IDL with SJD, AJ, and Ogbonnia.
We went out and got one of the best CB's in the league in JC Jackson.
We replaced Nwosu with Khalil Mack.
                      We replaced Schofield with Zion.
Drafted a safety to allow DJ play Star and Money.

All of the teams play mostly the same schedule.
                      The only different teams are:
                      Chiefs: Bengals, Bills, Bucs
                      Raiders: Pats, Saints, Steelers
                      Chargers: Falcons, Browns, Dolphins
                      Broncos: Ravens, Panthers, Jets

                      I think we're a 12-5 team.

Don’t really see it with Denver especially with Wilson as QB.
