Without Lynn we won’t have Slater so I’m glad we stuck with him til the end.

I agree with this! There was no point in firing him in the middle of the season anyway as we had no future HC candidate on the staff. I thought he should not have been back last season but in hindsight, it worked out best in the long run.

Love love this kid. Already top ten in passing in our history and is only going to get better. According to NFL Research on twitter he is the first QB in the Super Bowl era to reach 500+ completions before his 20th start. Just awesome.

It is hard to believe in the optimistic projections concerning Herbert's future. The Chargers excel at self-sabotage. Spanos is to blame. He's a bungler. He bungled away Rivers' career, and he's perfectly capable of doing it with the new qb.

Didn't Spanos hire a coach who thought Tyrod Taylor was a better QB than Rivers? The same coach thought Tyrod was a better option than Herbert.

Archie Manning understood that the Chargers have a serious systemic problem. It is the owner. He wouldn't let his son sign a contract with the franchise because he understood that it was damaged in the biggest way. It's fortunes won't ultimately change until there is a new owner
