Herbert was spectacular today, once again. Just think, he had a TD dropped and another called back by a penalty. He should have had 6 TDS today.

Feels good to have a young stud QB with mobility and a rocket arm. And still learning.

The big difference between the 2 QB today.

Herbert got some excellent pass protection today. The OL had a few breakdowns, but he had a bunch of plays where he was sitting back by himself and the clock in his head was telling him you got to get rid of it, yet there was no one in the same zip code. He had forever on some of those plays.

Mahommes had some plays like that too. But not that many. And he got knocked around a fair bit. His internal clock was pretty much right on. Get rid of it ... or else. He did a good job of keeping his O on schedule, but had he held the ball much, it could have gotten ugly.

                    And 3 dropped.

And hundreds of yards dropped or called back.

As multiple posters have pointed out, having laser arm really helps in bad weather.

Four of the five 2021 1st round QBs are starting, and they all look like garbage so far. But that is what you expect from rookie QBs starting immediately. First overall pick Trevor Lawrence in particular has struggled; 7 INTs to 5 TDs; 54% completion percentage; 23.3 QB rating.

It again illustrates what a special player Herbert is, accomplishing what he did as a rookie, thrown into the fire on a moment's notice, with almost no preparation for the role.

I still marvel at how good he is this early. He not only has the obvious size, speed and that arm, but he is extremely smart, works hard, is humble, appears very coachable and most importantly - respected by everyone around him. Imagine his progression as he gets more comfortable with reading defenses and has more time in this offense.

Trevor Lawrence was groomed to be "the guy" his entire life and always had the best coaching and best supporting talent and at hugely successful programs in high school and college. Suddenly, he is on a team with less talent than the teams he is playing, a coaching staff that appears to have gotten off the to worst possible start and is losing for the first time. It will be interesting to see how he handles it. I think he will bounce back and eventually become a very good QB but I sure am happy we have Herbert!
