And no, I don't think Burrow would have driven up Herbert's price (at least not significantly IMO) as Burrow himself has said he didn't want to break the bank so the Bengals could still sign free agents.

I've already detailed my concerns about Herbert numerous times in this thread, you can choose to ignore it if you'd like.

Bottom line, there was zero reason to rush into this contract when we still had two more years to see some of his red flags would go away in a new system, how his injuries would heal, etc

Sure there was. The price will keep going up. The injuries weren’t abnormal or long term. The talent is immense. Smart to lock him up. Who cares what rival fans think.
