Those guys have supreme confidence and it infects the team. They raise the level of everybody.
Swap teams and Herbert has playoff wins and Burrows doesn't.

That’s lazy. Been around the block with that one with Rivers. Dig a little deeper

Burrow has not missed an entire season. Missed half a season.

Cleveland paid Watson , they still suck. Rams paid Goff, they traded him. Broncos paid Wilson, he is on the downside and spending mllions.l this off-season to be a better team.

Paying a QB 50 mil doesn't equal team success.if the rest of the team is a disaster. That always seems to be lost on you.

Criticized Carr for 1.plauoff appearance but the Raiders defense has been shit forever.

Sorry I think your take on this is ridiculous. Get real is right!
Brady and Mahomes are exceptions and everybody is trying to find one and why QBs are over drafted and bust so much in the process.

It's still a team game. Brady had a bad OL last year, they had a losing.record. a 50 mil QB on a shitty team is still a shitty team.

KC isn't a shitty team and Mahomes brings a good team to another level.

Except I think it was true with Rivers as well, so I don't agree it was lazy.

Not lost at all and the bolded is my point. Paying a QB $50m is obviously a fool's errand if the rest of the team sucks. Obviously it's a team game and you have to have a quality coach and a good squad before you invest in a qb and if you're going to invest $50m that dude better be special and a difference maker when the game's on the line. Mahomes is that, Brady was that and Burrow seems to be that. Hurts may be as well.

Would be great if Herbert can get another win against Mahomes. Getting swept by KC last year was sickening.

I'm not quite sold on Hurts being "that". Him having a quality team around him helps his cause.

They ever play with broken ribs and a torn labrum from less than stellar O line protection?Herbert can win it all with a solid team. All of the pressure is on SpAnus cuz if ya can't go far with Herbert your just a loser owner like most everyone has already figured out

Hating Spanos is a stretch for me. The NFL sets the cap and TT/Staley are spending it. We have what appears to be a stellar OL.
Slater-Johnson-Linsley- Salyer- Pipkins. Current depth is Jaimes, Sarell. There will be more.
Personally, I love this team's roster and coaches. We've improved every year with Staley so far. Psyched about Moore. C'mon 2023! ,

Respectfully disagree with your assessment that we're improving. IMO the increase in wins is due to soft schedules and playing teams with significant injuries at QB (Colts, Rams etc). I'll point to the fact that we didn't beat a team that finished with a winning record last year, and add to that the face plant in Jacksonville.

                      I'm skeptical, but hopeful . To each his own . . . . . .

                        Significant injuries ?
That's not what we had last year ?

We did - lots of them. BUT we never (completely) lost our QB like Indy and LA did (see - it can ALWAYS get worse). It's just about impossible to win in the NFL without your QB1, so in that respect at least we were more fortunate than other teams. The Colts and Rams games were potentially difficult opponents (Tennessee as well without their QB1, maybe Tannehill was only damaged - I don't remember) but without their QB's became essentially gimmees . . . . .

IMO this current Charger team without JH would be fortunate indeed to win more than 3 games in an entire season . . . . . Imagine a full season with Stick at QB (shudders).
