Not the best players to use in that scenario - those two are obviously being made better by everything that surrounds them.

The real point is that Herbert, if he is truly elite, will play to a certain standard more often than not, in spite of whatever else may be failing around him. Herbert has not shown that he has been able to make this his offense/his team.

Herbert seems to be in a mindset of "follow the leader," rather than becoming that leader; and it's very disappointing.

I will give you that much. And I do think Herbert can get better and needs to play better

But maybe just maybe the rest of the team sucks more. And that is my point. Herbert is not the problem

I am going to say get a defense that is not bottom 10% of the league in his 56 starts
and give him a head coach who makes Mike McCoy look like Vince Lombardi

Nobody gets Open and when they do its a joke of YAC. Even a wide-open bomb to Palmer doesn't result in a TD.

I have been saying that for a while. Purdy just has to get the ball in the hands of his playmakers. We have no YAC, no burst,.,just plodding, predictable drives

Nobody on this team is playing well, and that includes Herbert.

Bring in a capable head coach, and I think you'll see massive improvement throughout. the roster. If Herbert doesn't improve after a good head coach is hired, that's when you give up on him. Now? No.

But somebody mentioned a batted ball that lead to an interception. Well the play before, Everett had a chance to make a play and he didn't - would have been a TD.

Keenan Allen - had a pass go right through his hands. Yes, it had some zip on it - but he missed it. The next play a sack and than they didn't convert on third down

The running game - save the big run by Kelly - again, too many 2 yard runs losing down and distance

The defense, gave up 485 yards to the Chiefs. And yes, though the defense did make a few stops - what about that one play where Staley rushed 4 and had the other 7 at the KS/MO border they were so far off. Chiefs gained like 20 yards of field position because - of that Staley defense or whatever the hell that play call was

Herbert was pressured on 33% of his passes today -sacked 5 times -- one play, 25 just let 50 rush on by and he didn't evne block him, total whiff

So yes, I truly do get it - that Herbet needs to play better

But the coaches suck, the defense is abysmally bad, the OL is inconsistent as hell and the receivers are the slowest group in the leauge and usually are tackled after they make a catch

NO he doesn't. Keenan is a possession WR with ZERO chance of busting a long one for a td.

Even the misses in the Dallas game, he isn't taking those to the house. He is slow.

People will say how great Palmer played today. I saw some tough catches but not a lot of separation. Also the bomb in the first half DEFINED the Chargers offensive problems. That 10000000000% should be a TD but a typical SLOW Charger WR cant score. Luckily this time we got a red zone score anyway.

Cant argue on anything really. Its a mess. More than anything its sad to see how Herbert is being affected. His career has stalled. I thought year 4 would be another level for him. I am just frustrated with it all.
