Another impressive thing about Herbert...after a tough outing in Buffalo, followed by the absolute shellacking by the Patriots' defense...Herbert came back and has had back to back impressive outings four days apart, engineering game-winning drives to win consecutive games for the first time. You might expect a rookie QB to have his confidence crushed after a couple of bad games that included a 45-0 shellacking. After the Pats game I thought the league might have caught up to Herbert. But nope, he is unfazed and bounces right back to being a phenom. Just another indication of how rare of a talent, and person, he is.

I was the first to post that he would be fine as the board started to melt down with quivering worries that those games wold break him mentally and ruin his entire career.

I think Herbert could be slotted above Dehaun Watson, making him No. 5.

It would have been a blowout if the D had played better.

They should get some credit for the last two weeks in that if not for the turnovers and timely stops, Herbert is not going to be in position to lead the comeback.

But, overall, Herbert and the O probably blows the Raiders and Falcons out if we aren't making coverage mistakes, unable to pressure the QB even when we blitz and just having horrible run fits. Get the Raiders off on a reasonable number of 3rd downs and Herbert gets a bunch more drives, and scores another couple of TD.

LOVE the way Herbie just zips those lasers--the rock comes out of his hand so fast, is usually pinpoint accurate, makes all the throws, throws on the run, throws long--dude is the total package...

I thought this might be a better spot to post this.

Finally Steichen gets some credit nationally in his FIRST full season as OC. With poor offensive line play overall and a rookie QB putting up historic rookie QB numbers, how is it that Steichen is rarely mentioned. Most successful QBs that I can think of credits their offensive coordinator, which Herbert has done repeatedly.

seems like the run game had a little more creativity to it w/some cut backs (by design eye hope) and a coupla few off tackle runs, and.... loved to see some KJ Hill in the mix.

that said, would be surprised if too many if any, consider Stich 'n Pep in the same league/breath as Joe Brady/Mike Kafka ??

considering what Campen did w/Bakhtiari (fourth rounder), think you've pretty much got to resign/do another go 'round w/Sam (fifth rounder), and given that his arrow is pointing up/in the right direction.
