You cannot intimidate or insult me into not posting my football takes.

It is ludicrous to pigeonhole the Chargers into drafting certain positions at certain early spots,
and yet a lot of people are doing exactly that.

    Use draft capital wisely.

The job of fine tuning our ranking of talent level, fit and impact, especially for our early picks, is not completed.

Frankly it is hit or miss around here, as TPB tries to figure out our defensive needs...lol...go heavy back seven.

And I look for blowhardism to increase at TPB in the next 15 days too...back to the woodLab.

Get ready for leaks on the medicals, real and BS,
    from Weekend in Indy.

Agents do it. Front offices do it.

When Staley speaks of projecting where Charger Olinemen will be in 2022, more than in July of 2021,
I believe he is speaking of both mid round draftees, and Pipkins/Norton/St. Louis.

There is so much depth at Oline in this draft.

Sorry Trenchers, but that is my take.

TT has already told us that we must address Oline as well as other position groups.

      Whatever happened to "complementary football?"
We do not play modern football.

^ This. Even though I am hoping we take OT @#13, I do not have access to the Bolt Big Board. If the Chargers have a CB or Edge rated well above any of the OT's left on the board @#13, and they pick one of those players, we need to trust their judgment. Also, Staley I'm sure has a heavy emphasis placed on building a strong secondary, as evidenced by his work with the Rams. If he has a solid, press corner rated much higher than OT as a total team need, then we have to believe he knows what he is doing. Remember, it was our D last year that was getting gashed for megapoints at the end of a lot of games that we ended up losing. And a big reason for that was our lack of press corners to blanket the opposing team's wideouts.

Albert Breer of SI writes that the Eagles moved back to 12 partially because they think Chase will be taken by Cincy.
Wide receiver is a big need for Philly.

Part of the reason Philadelphia made the deal with Miami is because they think Chase will be off the board before the sixth pick according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
"The Eagles worked exclusively with the Dolphins, and (Howie) Roseman had to keep the trade under wraps in the two-plus weeks in between to allow for the bang-bang nature of how it eventually would go down," Breer wrote in his weekly MMQB column. "And with a pretty good chance the Bengals will take LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase at five (we mentioned in our mock this week that that Joe Burrow has given Cincinnati’s brass a glowing recommendation), Philly felt comfortable with the difference in talent between six and 12—and also operated with the knowledge that it’d be hard to get a future first (this being Miami’s slotted No. 1 in 2022) in exchange for moving down closer to the draft, particularly if it looked like the top four picks would be QBs."

Ok. I will say it...0% chance we go RB at#13. Zero...nada...zip..

There is no model, other than you gotta be good.

I am no draft Cosmi early fan,
as he duplicates Norton & Pipkins.

Instead go for one of the myriad OTs later. Value.
I agree. Saying there’s a specific model of OT is like saying there’s a specific model of WR. There’s Cole Beasley, Mike Evans, and everything in between—if you can get open, catch, block, etc., then you’re good.

OTs have jobs to do. If they do them well then who the hell cares what they look like. There’s Charles Leno Jr. (6’3”, 305), Orlando Brown, Jr. (6’8, 350) and everything in between.
Our quarterback is a golden god.
