And what part of Ekeler saying he wants someone to step up and share the load are you guys not getting? Even HE wants another guy there. Hopefully Spiller can be a lot more than he was last season and he gets a bigger role.
Now im not saying we SHOULD draft Bijan but if he falls to us, thats who im picking. If he goes before us, then cool ....move on to the next BPA.

It’s fucking HARD to score TDs in the NFL, what are you even talking about? Give the man credit for fuck’s sake! We’ve all seen the spectacular spin moves making two guys miss while jumping over another two guys and the spectacular diving catches half a foot off the turf, etc…nothing he has done has been by default, holy shit balls man!? What are you smoking today!?
Again, scoring 39 TDs is great but what if he misses 7 games? Who is the guy to take that up? Kelly the guy we hope dont fumble and hasnt shown much power?
Again im not going to shortchange Spiller yet because he hasnt had a chance.
I give Ekeler credit for having a nose for the EZ, but again.....when a RB calls for someone to help out....i got to listen. So tell me, does Kelly have the ability to do spectaculer spin moves and jump over two guys and diving catches? You know that is a no, so thus the best option.
And im still waiting for you to show me where i compared Herbert to Murray and Jones. Whats up with your reading comprehension today?

Gross overstatement. Are they the top OL in the league? No, but they’re far from the worst. Coaching of the OL took a step back last season. They just need to play better as a unit. I don’t care how good your OL is if you do t have playmakers you’re gonna have a pedestrian offense. They barely beat a bunch of weak teams last season. There’s a lot of room for improvement. I certainly don’t want to see games with guys like Palmer, Bandy and Moore as the starting wide outs. That was ugly
I agree... the OL coaching took a step back. Although Salyer stepped in admirably, he isn't Slater. Feiler's abilities are on the decline. It's nice to have Salyer there to step into the LG position. We can get under the cap by 3/15 by cutting Feiler... that move seems eminent. Having Slater, Salyer, and Linsley next to each other solidifies that left side.
Zion's performance was actually a little underwhelming to me... he had some struggles. Year 2 should be a quantum leap for him. He should understand the RG position better in Year 2. Everybody was geeked out to see Pipkins play @ a much improved standard of play. But IMO, he was still only average. Many times, the Chargers had to roll extra protection his way. That's a waste of a RB or TE. And Pipkins didn't look good in the run game. He's kind of top heavy, unbalanced, and not very powerful. I think an upgrade @RT would make the whole offense much better. Kellen Moore hopefully signals that we will be more balanced and more efficient on offense. Staley talked about being more balanced last off-season and that running the ball made opposing defenses play their gaps and tackle. Running the ball is important because it let's your offensive line be more physical and makes opposing defenses play honest. I'm pretty sure that Lombardi was let go because he wasn't able to implement any of those concepts. But to do that, we have to have a better, more physical RT than Pipkins.
We have playmakers. Keenan is a top possession receiver. Converting 3rd downs and/or being in 2nd/3rd-and-short situations will allow your offense to be balanced and multiple. Also allows you to implement play-action more often. And that will slow down the pass-rush... and make LB's/safeties play honest. It creates spaces in a defense and allows for shots down the field. Pure speed doesn't guarantee your success to convert deeper patterns. Much of that starts up front. Staley talked about that at the end of the season specifically.
Ignore all of these things at your own peril. Just don't be too disappointed when the Chargers don't select an early 2nd round WR with the #21 pick.

And I want to see what spiller can do, he was one of my favorite RBs coming out last year….but a redshirt year was probably needed given that he was the youngest player drafted in 2022…plus kelley looked legit last year they just didn’t involve him as consistently as they should have…"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post.
