Not that it doesn't make sense to get ball in his hands, but that was college level and it was on a team that was really good at blocking. I don't see the production translation to NFL. His style looks like he won't ever play 17 games. So in my view he is overrated prospect that will end up on IR. I know it's harsh critic but it's drafting players about projection of production at next level. I think if I'm drafting a player top 15. I want a player that is plug and play for a decade. He could be that. But I'd rather have a BPA of OL or DL that early in draft.
that is my one big concern for BB.
I'm more than confident in his blocking (when healthy)
I'm more than confident in his size and his physical development with Ben Herbert (lots of room to grow).
But he will HAVE to learn to use more finesse when getting tackled or he'll end up on IR more often than not.
and that's going to be a real challenge considering his reputation for being the most competitive guy on the field.
wts I feel comfortable he will take to coaching very well and it will be a none issue.. I see a very smart kid who knows what he can get-away with and one who's willing to adapt for a long sustainable, championship-caliber career.

"I feel like I'm yards after the catch and just being able to make people miss," Bowers said. "Just turn good plays into great plays."
He later added: "I like catching the ball in the flat and making things happen, That's fun to me."
If he can still do that at NFL I will be impressed, I just don't see it. My guess is he won't play 17 games.
Who has it better than us?

Klatt on Bowers.
I expect a lot of disappointed and underwhelmed Charger fans if/when we draft Bowers at 5.
I get it, we all wish we get better value.
we'll undoubtedly get graded with "Cs" by pundits.
But it won't matter when we win a superbowl.
drafting Bowers is just as much about culture than it is about talent. It's appropriately ironic how full-circle we've come from expectations of a "run dominant" offense, to now understanding that it will be more balanced than ever.
Bowers represents that balance as a do-it-all weapon
we're replacing Allen with Bowers, not another WR.
Bowers will be Hortiz' first pick ever and will go down as one of the best ever. Future HOFer and becomes our second most valuable player after Herbert.
trust the process.HAMMER TIME

Not bad at all but can I have a 2nd or a 3rd en plus.
lol
Although I suspect Verse and B.Thomas will be off the board by #23. Which wouldn't matter, if you could take DeJean at that spot.

Klatt is politely saying, "Duh! Bowers at #5!" Other wise evaluators are saying, "Duh! Alt at #5!" And others saying, "Duh! If MHJ is there, you take him!"
There is more than just *ONE* successful way for Hortiz to manage the pick at #5.

20- Dejean
23- Thomas
